Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We ride the 2017 Suzuki SV650 at the US Press Intro. See the new SV in action and hear our first impressions. Everything you want to know is included. This is a production motorcycle - not an early hand built sample. The standard SV will be in US dealers in June 2016. The ABS model may be as late as July 2016. Thanks for watching. MotorcycleTV.us

    Great review! I love the first-person commentary during the ride, perfect feedback for what the bike is doing and how it feels. I've wanted one of these for years. When they first came out I was unfortunately recovering from an accident on an old GS850 - typical car-turned-left-in-front-of-me wreck. For various reasons I haven't ridden since, but once a rider always a rider. I have a feeling this would be a perfect bike to get back in the game with.

    This is a very easy to watch review! Well done! Yeah this bike is not too far removed from my '06 Gen. 2 SV. I am hard pressed to find a better "bang for your buck" motorcycle anywhere......and the very fact that the engine, chassis, suspension and brakes remain almost identical to the original 1999 model speaks mountains for this machine!!

    great review don't listen to these "track day only " snobs. they've missed the point so completely my eyes bleed upon reading their sad misplaced contrivance. The fact that you can so easily pull the bike back in line mid turn when you've overshot. or the incredible forgiveness of the engine when you've missed a shift. The uncompromising stability of the chasis giving the rider sublime confidence. Not to mention the meager price point. these are the pillars the sv has always stood on. if it can be faulted at all it would be the front suspension, but that's easily fixed with progressive springs and re-valving

    x1Tekja i totally agree but hear my thoughts, maybe you help me come to a conclusion :) I have hard time deciding which will be my first middleweight street bike! Every single review on the web puts the STREET TRIPLE above the whole competition! Excellent chassis , Superb handling and motor quality like a diamond!!!!! Curb weight as a 250 cc bike as well! Never ridden it though but this review made me think twice before my first purchase as a new rider : / Most ppl claim it is a perfect begginer's bike and has very smooth linear power delivery.... Although i am a little biased to SV with all the clever systems it offers , i think it should be lighter !!! Contenders are the Street Triple, SV650abs , and FZ6 fazer ... Suggestions are welcomed ! :)

    +pg88corfu If you can afford a street tripple as your first middleweight bike then really there's no reason not to get one. It is true the tripple is a gem of astonishing magnitude. However for the common thrill seeking jockey, and when taking into consideration the price of shop maintenance. The tripple is way out of range. in contrast the SV hits this mark perfecly.

  • @pg88corfu

    @pg88corfu

    8 жыл бұрын

    The tripple as slightly used and the SV as a new one. Same price. But you are right, cost benefit analysis tells the Suzi is a winner. Reliability of tripple though, unknown... You believe the SV to be better and more comfortable,friendly in curves,and more lienar than the Yamaha fazer 600?

    +pg88corfu I've never been on an f6 so i couldn't possibly give an accurate account. I don't dare make the heartless fallacy of telling you what it looks like on paper. It is in every way contradictory to the spirit of riding motorbikes.

    Really well produced video and good commentary. If you like that bike you should throw your leg over my 1986 Yamaha SRX600. What tires were on it? They look like BattlAx. Change to Pirelli Angel GT. Much better tire, better front feel and quicker turn in, and awesome mileage. I get 9000-11000 miles on a set and that's on a heavy 2006 Interceptor. First thing I do when the front has no adjustment is replace the springs with Progressive or Race Tec, Race Tec emmulators, and preload adjustable fork caps. One gripe... This bike is like 40lbs heavier than say a 2007 which weighs in at 379lbs I believe. I blame the heavier frame and exhaust system (including catalyst) mostly, but to me that doesn't account for 40lbs. I think the old weight given was a dry weight.

  • @SuzukiC41

    @SuzukiC41

    5 жыл бұрын

    If they could even just do generic non-adjustable USD forks and iffy radial brakes, they would fix every issue with the bike in regards to how good of a platform for modding it is. Swap a new shock, cartridge forks, and Brembo radials. You've got a fully adjustable ride with great brake feel. The current one, you can swap in cartridge forks and a shock, but you lose out on the feel/stability of USD forks and the feel of radial brakes (plus I don't think you can really buy and aftermarket axial brakes for it) I don't mind spending the money to upgrade/swap like this, but I don't want to have to replace the entire front end and figure out how to make it all work

    I rode both of them and went for the SV in the end, mostly because the suspension on the FZ is abysmal and I prefer the classical styling on the SV. Other than that, the bikes are fairly similar and both bikes are an amazing choice overall, especially considering the value for money.

    Great review thanks, I own a street triple for a year now which I like for its power and easy to ride and to commute with. However, the triple engine does vibrate between 4 and 6 thousand rpm which annoys me sometimes and the mirrors are an absolute pain, total waste of time. I can only see my fat elbows ! ! ! ! I had my front fork replaced after a couple of months on warranty and it looks that I will have to change it again, not impressed at all ! ! ! !I also bought a "comfy seat" because my partner was moaning about her soar bum when I take her for a ride and again a waste of money at £160 pounds from the dealership because I can't feel the difference ! ! ! ! The Triumph is a lot more money (£2,500 over the price of the Suzi in the UK) and I can't see why ! ! Just because it's more powerful ! ?I really like this bike, I read a lot of good reviews about this little gem ( I have to book a test ride) the only problem I have is with the size of the stock end can, although it sounds pretty good and I'm sure that there are some good after market ones on sale ! ! I am really really tempted to swap my bike with this beautiful little bike and at this price, I rest my case.

    I believe (through experience) a beginners bike is a dirt bike first! From there, a beginners bike would be a 250. You won't hear me call something a beginner bike too often - people will choose what they choose. The SV650 has a mellow, usable, and fun power delivery. The bike won't wheelie away from you - it won't shoot from under your legs like so many powerful bikes. It's a wonderfully rideable bike for newer riders or absolutely calm to ride for those who just want to enjoy the ride. I'd ride one just about anywhere.
