Thanks, I had an 86” and 89” back in the day too. The 89” definitely had some good upgrades over the 86”. My son and I restored this one……. Brings back a lot of memories!

Thanks, My son can't wait to take it to the dunes. Took it out for a tuning run and needed to do a few adjustments. The Blazer is a 1980 with a newer front clip on it.

No problem with cracks yet. I have had a couple quads with the 85”/86” swing arm but I know the 87” and newer is a much better setup. I had one of those before as well. Good luck with yours!

Nice build! I have an 86 myself I just finished rebuilding the entire engine, I would ditch that first gen swing arm though it's a miracle it has not cracked on you yet. I bet those plastic's were not cheap!

It works on a swing arm / lever with a single bypass shock. The technology has been around for years. It allows for more travel and better stability than the old school double shock setup. Most dirt bikes went to this in the early 80s I think. Thanks for watching!

Thanks, I bought a rebuilt rear shock off e-bay. The front are also stock very good condition shocks I found. Both are working well but will most likely replace the front shocks with an aftermarket pair at some point.

What plastics are those? or is it just custom painted? Also, what suspension do you have on it? Im about to undergo this same thing and can use a lil help :) thanks. and you did a great job, looks AMAZING!!!

The plastic came new off eBay. There isn't any sites that I found for older model remanufactured Suzuki parts. Most I had to buy used off eBay and restore. You can find new motor rebuild parts, bearings, shocks, ect almost anywhere they sell dirt bike parts.

I had about $2,800 into the quad and parts/powder coat. Didn’t have to pay any labor, we did all the work our selves.........
