Not at all surprised. I remember when Motorcycle magazine did a torture test on one of these when they finally went to liquid cooling in the early 90's. It went 24 hours at WOT, then the engine was disassembled to see what, if anything, broke or wore out. The GSXR had NO discernible wear on any of its internals, even after running 24 hours at max rpm. Their metallurgy would only have improved since then...

84k miles?!? That is wild. Most riders won't ever put that many miles on any bike ever. But it is true, the GSXR's, especially the current gen, are super reliable. Might need to pick up another myself!

I ve got 250.000 km's on my Ducati 998. Yes, first overhauled at 100.000 prventively. Big end bearings was all that needed replacement. If not driving top revs all the time engine can last very long. Good oil helps a lot..frequent change
Love the intro man!👍🏻👍🏻 I appreciate the shout out! 👊🏻 definitely looking forward to this summer!😃

Don't forget always go for a ride before you change your oil get that engine nice and hot that way when you pull the bolt off all that crap that's hot and circulating through the bike comes out and doesn't get stuck to the walls in the engine if you were to do it when its cold

I agree, the 750 was designed for a specific type of hooligan.

I hope Suzuki keeps these around a while longer. I'm learning on and enjoying the snot out of my Ninja 400 but the 750 is my dream bike!

Great video! What road is this? I’ve been on just about all of them besides this one !
Great video. What about the valve clearances on your friends bike? did he ever do it and at what mileage?
what about cam chain? and guides?
what kind of oil do you use
So glad I picked up gixxer 750, after hearing this review, I knew they were reliable but this just proves it right here. Amazing bike!
Do you miss abs? Comfortable for long haul? Thanks.
Hey salt! How would I look for and price a used gsxr 600-750? I really want one for a track bike and majority of 750 around me are stretched and lowered, i’ve been looking for stock 600/750 and they’re all 3-8k in price (HSV,AL)
@SALTxTHExWOUND
2 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t look away from a stretched or lowered one as long as it runs good, you can get it back to stock easily. But look for one setup for track already preferably.
What about valve adjustments? I use mine for light commuting, never abused on the track, lower 2/3rds of the rev range, 16k miles, no ticking. So can I go longer before taking it into the far away shop for a valve adjustment?
@SALTxTHExWOUND
2 ай бұрын
I had mine checked at 20k miles and they were all in spec. Chase has never done valves in his at 83k and still going strong. I think if you hear ticking it’s worth taking it in, otherwise I wouldn’t bother personally
The GSXR750 is an extremely overlooked and underrated machine. It’s a Fantastic value for someone who doesn’t need or want a 1000cc.
It's amazing weather in America, I live where rains non stop pretty much and I would love to own 750 but I don't know if weather will allow to actually enjoy it

Thats awesome . I have an article from 2005 Bike magazine about a motorcycle messenger in London that has 800,000 on a Honda VFR with 2 engines 400 000 miles roughly on each engine .....The guys name is STAN . He also owned a few other high mileage bikes , it just shows you with proper maintenance you can get alot of miles out of your bike .

I want a 1000 really bad Ive had my 600 for 7 years now, hard to convince myself to sell and upgrade might just see how long I can make her last its an 06 636 with 11k miles rn. What about valve maintenance, I know Im coming up on it for my bike

Consider yourself lucky 🙌🏻
It really amazes me when a bike has only 80000 miles on it , that’s really nothing. My Cf moto 650 has 96000 klms on it. Toured the breadth of Australia in 2020. Nothing has gone wrong, brake pads changed once and apart from oil changes nothing else has been touched. And it’s been thrashed to within a inch of its life. Never crashed.
@SALTxTHExWOUND

Very impressive! I think the biggest reason you don’t see many motorcycles with a ton of miles on them is people don’t ride them as often as we drive vehicles. That and weather play a big role. There’s a Honda F4i on KZread with over 200k on it
@603mike
2 ай бұрын
That’s only 59651 miles, not much work for a twin that doesn’t rev that high compared to a 600 supersport. Seen plenty of twins with higher mileage. I’ve seen RSV4s with 40000 miles which is even more surprising.
@kevinhorne429
2 ай бұрын
@@603mike Point is that I don’t see 96000 klms as anywhere near high mileage. It’s now done a further 4300 is on it after doing Melbourne to Adelaide twice last month cruising at 80 mph if l thought l could get away with it at around 300 or so miles at a time. It makes me laugh when in the UK 20000 is usually considered high mileage, that’s break in if properly looked after .
can you daily it like a 650cc?and whats its mpg like?
@SALTxTHExWOUND
8 күн бұрын
Sure, a lot of people do. If you’re just cruising its around 35-40mpg
About 740 miles a month or 8800 a year.. Is this considered high mileage over there or you just don't ride too much? Is there something to do with riding seasons etc? I put about 2500 miles every month on my little 250 but over here is hot 24/7 365 days, there are no seasons, just *hot*

dam the bike. What is this road? Where is this road?
Japanese bikes can last 200k. It's all about maintenance. I know a guy with 350k on his R6
Im originally from wnc now trapped in ohio and miss riding the parkway
Bought my 15 with 4k miles. Up to 16k in one year without any hiccups. Turn the key and shes ready to go. My friends 636 was at 50k miles. 1st gear was gone, second was going out, leaked half a quart a day, oil smoke out the exhaust, and 2 frame cracks re-welded. Let's just say you can't expect many bikes to be the one-of-a-kind gem the 750 is. Especially motor-wise.
