My '07 Bandit 1250 just turned 100,000 miles. A .2011 GSX 1250 FA is now sitting next to it in the garage. Basically, the same bike, as you point out. I was mainly interested in the ABS and lower body wind protection. Picked it up for $5000, with 10,000 miles on the clock. I have no doubt it'll be as fine of machine as the Bandit.

I have a 2013 model with the hard panniers and top case. I have been across Canada twice on this bike and it is an excellent touring machine. I quickly added mirror extenders and threw away the stock seat. It pulls very strongly so you have to careful as it can surprise you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Cheers.

Collecting a 2016 model this weekend all going well. I'm really looking forward to getting out on it. I previously had a Bandit 650sa and loved it for size , im 6ft 3, so not all bikes fit very well. This one will be a keep for sure! Thanks for the great review 👍

Have 2011 bike, never found seat to be a problem, generally a quiet comfortable machine, have ridden a lot worse over 50 years.

I like the look of the sport tours but they all look alike from BMW R models to Yamaha FJR to Honda to this one and all other brands. They just have that same look which I guess there isn’t any other way they can design them and it comes down to the power plants that differentiate them. Not a lot of these on the used market for sale in the states.

I was thinking of selling mine but going to hang on for a while longer went 40 tooth rear air filter carbon slip on blocked pair valve. Ecu flash bars braided lines super smooth power it will limp home when you're tired or light the wick and she dances

I may get one though for food deliveries and daily driver to work. But that 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS is also tempting. I have a Prius PHV that is pretty much a compromise between a gokart and comfortable daily driving. I am so torn between the two-2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA and 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS. Classic vs Modern. It's like choosing between that dorky geek woman and a modern woman who like to go night clubbing. Help me choose please.

Hey there Thom youve got 2 completely different machines , power, weight handling all different . I think in my opinion if your scooting around town delivering food a tmax or a burgman 650 , even an nc750s with a decent topbox could be an option for you. Its down to weight , flickability, storage space and fuel economy with a workbike . However for the daily commute a GSX1250fa is a fine tool for the job and to have a bit of fun at the weekends too.

I have to ask....have you ever got near to 190 miles on a tank? I am looking for a petrol station at 150miles like a bird of prey looks for its tea at night :)

I have one and yeah, it is a heavy bike. 257kgs wet. It's fine when you're moving but can be tricky to push around on uneven ground etc

Doesn't the weight really depend on how big the person is riding the bike, though having said that, I have one, and I'm only 11 stone and 65 years old.

Surprised you found it comfortable, worst stock seat I've ever sat on, the torque is a problem on wet or slippy roads, Honda cbf1000 is a much better bike in my opinion if you had to choose in this category.

I have never had a problem with mine on wet roads. I also have a 2008 CBF1000 and thought it was very comparable in touring but the motor is not as strong down low. It was a great stead around Scotland last year. I agree with you on the stock 1250 seat; it is garbage.
