Hey Alex, great videos, invaluable! Can I ask, how did you know the correct manual? As I'm sifting through a lot, I have an 05 carry and am unsure if it's FA, DA or what?! Any info would be great, cheers mate.

Hi Josh, thanks for watching and glad they're useful. I downloaded an official Suzuki manual from one of the Facebook groups but also got the information from a local Suzuki garage, which were really helpful. It did take them a while to find the correct parts for the model though.👍🏻

Hi there, I've just got an 05 carry and have noticed there is a leak coming from the brake weight compensator. They are impossible to find, just wondered if you had any tips to solve the problem or if you have ran into any issues with yours? Cheers, Josh

Hi, at the moment, I've not had any issues with my brakes, thank god. Sounds like it's a seal gone, which isn't really what you want. Have you tried a Suzuki garage for part numbers etc? There are some good facebook groups out there, sure you're not the only one to have had this, especially with the amount of these vans worldwide. Good luck with the hunt. Alex👍🏻

Good morning from Bermuda brother. I have a light carry Suzuki that’s 22 years old. I have a problem with the check engine light and then the van starts to dog out a bit. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks

Hi, thanks for watching👍🏻. Could be anything in the ignition or fueling systems really. Best thing to do is get an engine code reader plugged in. I've chased my tail too many times in the past with similar experiences and it can get expensive trying to second guess a problem. Good luck, hope you get a quick fix with it. 👍🏻

what diff oil and gear oil did you use? Also, what size new wheels did you go for?

  • @Bloodshed.restorations

Hi Josh. The diff oil is Hypoid gear oil API GL-5 SAE 80w-90. Gear oil was API GL-4 80w-90. Can't remember what brands they were, got the gear oil from Halfords, the Hypoid stuff I got from a reputable seller on Ebay. Wheels are 14" mk1 MX5 ones, great improvement with handling, compared to normal anyway.👍🏻

It has to be a hypoid oil as these types are specific to the diff, they contain different additives to cope with the extra pressure and help reduce wear, apparently, always go with what the manual says. The nozzle was off an old 2 stroke oil bottle, made life much easier.

Thanks very helpful. My gear shifter if getting a bit clunky so I’m hoping it’s the Dif oil. 🤞 1 question. Why did people paint old oil on the shed? 🤨

Hi, not had that pleasure yet but it shouldn't need the engine out for that. Might be worth posting on one of the Carry facebook groups, I downloaded a workshop manual from one and its been a godsend.
