Started making the bike in 87 as a 4 speed, became a 5 speed in the USA in 97 (earlier in the rest of the world) rebadged as the S83 Boulevard in 2005

Got a 94 intruder 1400... bike runs amazing. Only gripe is the smaller gas tank at 3 gal but overall i love it. Its a little small like you said but it's a great starter bike and has all the power you could ever need

I have an 04 Intruder Volusia 800 which is carberated and the 2005 C50 was made with efi. It's the same bike just a name change and efi. A lot of the parts are interchangeable too.

That's my bike, down to the year! Except mine is the deep pearl blue that almost looks purple but isn't. Mine needed to be overhauled, everything but the engine. The guy that had it left it sitting in the weather for 2 years. All I have left to do is a gasket on the brake light and put the tank and seat back on, they were redone too. Can't wait to ride again. Coming from a 440. That's a nice one and the price is super low. They can get up to 4 in that condition. The handlebars do look different... I bet they are aftermarket, maybe not . Beautiful bike, someone is going to have fun on that!

The Intruder started in 1985, it was a straight up Muscle Bike, running 12's in the 1/4 mile. Then in the 90's they started shedding that muscle bike image, but still a good bike, then in the 2000's they REALLY watered it down to a Cruiser....then in 2005 they "re-badged" it the Boulevard to sound more "American"....It's a very cramped bike, very nimble, but still Big CC Torque. The rake angle is VERY steep, and are notoriously Easy to Jack-knife your steering in a parking lot if you Swing the bars too quick or lock the brakes too fast at slow speed......That's basically the Intruder/Boulevard in a nutshell.

Yamaha Road Star went from carb to fuel injection. Also went from 1600 to 1700 so maybe that's considered a new build/bike?

I often have a fondness for Suzukis, especially their cruisers. I hope to buy one some day.

in answer to the question in the video about a bike that was in production carbed then, basically have a newer version same thing only fuel injected... I believe the Suzuki Intruder 1500 Volusia did that when it went to the 1500 Boulevard C90. same bike only fuel injected. might be wrong, but I think it is.

The 1500 was never called a Volusia, it was the 1500 LC & it became the C90 Boulevard.

Its a shame they were not released in Australia ,,they sold the M an C series and the 109R ,,the only S they sell here is the S40 ,,I have a little 2009 M50 and wish I had a M90 although I ride my M50 on a 1200 mile return trip quite often with ease

Hi Sean. Would you happen to know the brand of windscreen that is on this S83? I own a 2005 S83 that was 100% stock and in showroom condition. I want to add both a windscreen like the one you have...most I look at ruin the look of the S83..also I am looking for the seat backrest as well so my passenger lady friend won't feel like she is going to fall off the back!! Plus the backrest really fits on this model of motorcycle. Because to me the S83 Boulevard, or older Intruder was more of a chopper than a cruiser..Having that raked out front end, skinny fuel tank as you mentioned, and the fat rear tire..plus mine has the drag bars..Anyhow thanks for the help if you can remember the brand of the windscreen and see my post...I just want to enjoy the bike more on my highway travels, and be able to stay a little warmer and make my riding season longer up here in the north country.

The C90 is a 1500cc and is a boat compared to the S83. Much bigger in size and weight, but slower in my opinion due to the weight. The S83 is a great bike though.
