Testing the watch live the UI felt smooth to use. Nearby 965 felt similar in speed. Great watch!

I had the vertical and got this guy . I honestly really like this watch a lot. Lag was there on the vertical BAD, but this one is really not that bad. People talk about it, but the Garmin’s lag in other ways. Sometimes they just …. Freeze? And then cycle through… or at least my 965 does. This is my daily watch right now

Great highlighting the problem with the heart rate sensor, and you're right. Even if the watch can be paired with a chest strap or an armband for the money, the watch should be able to do the essential functions well. I think that is an area where Garmin and Apple tend to stand out is that they do the routine things better than everyone else. For them, it is the newer features that get ironed out over time, not the functions that I would expect to be fine-tuned out of the box. I can't wait to see a more in-depth review down the road.

I love the all black model. However I’m going to wear this 24/7. Does it make sense to go with the titanium for the lightness. Or would I be ok with the black stainless steel?

Greetings from Spain. Thank you for your reviews. In your opinion, which is the best device (or 3 of the best devices) to record activities and progress in CrossFit? Do you think the Suunto Race can do it well with a software update or its a hardware problem? Maybe the Garmin 965 is the best in HIIT activities? Or another one? Thank you. I'm looking for a new one device to train with.

Hey! No def not Suunto. It depends on how much you have to spend - I would say Fenix 7/epix PRO are the best by far w the new sensor tech. Then 965/265/instinct 2x - and I'd probably go Instinct 2X bc of flashlight and durability. Thanks!

One thing worth noting is the slight design change of the lugs from the Vertical to the Race. I believe you had the same issue with the Vertical lugs digging into your wrist. They have ever so slightly modified the Race which has eliminated the lugs digging into the wrist.

That's really helpful to know. I did not notice that but looking at the watch now it does seem a little bit less pronounced. I did find I felt it on the bone slightly more than other watches still, but you are correct it is not as as it was before!

  • @CraigEggleton

@@fitgearhunter I find with the bands included I will wear it slightly higher the wrist to prevent the digging. An excellent workaround are nylon Velcro straps which allow for best fit. Great review btw.

seems we need to wait for the next iteration that hopefully will have a better heart rate sensor. We would have to use it in conjunction with a chest strap when doing any strenuous activity. All the rest seems great. Maybe the insights could offer a bit more context and be translated into to dos. I'm waiting for the full review you'll do.

Sorry, but completely incorrect OHR comparison. The OHR will not show the correct HR interval during training for any manufacturer (neither Garmin nor Polar). I had the opportunity to test and compare with the Polar H9. Suunto Race did not show any significant deviations during slow runs. Yes, the Suunto HR is not as stable as the Garmin, but certainly not bad. There are absolutely no problems with daily training.
