It was not Edison who made the first light bulb. many scientists in Europe had discovered incandescence 100 years before Edison. Humphry Davy made a working incandescent light bulb with charcoal filament 78 years before Edison in 1802. Warren de la Rue made another with platinum filament in 1840. Henry Woodward and Matthew Evans filed the first patent for a light bulb in 1875. Then Joseph Wilson Swan made another light bulb in 1879. In fact Edison didn't even invent a lightbulb. He purchased Woodward and Evans' patent in 1880, replaced the filament wirh a better one, commercialized it and marketed it as the world's first light bulb.

Probably you are unaware how ruthless was Edison in hijacking his employees ' works and patent them in his name. Susrutha is not considered a myth even by western medical scholars . Then why the issue with us Indians in accepting ing the scientific temper of ancient India . But don’t fall for propaganda groups trying to push of myths and stories as ancient Indian science.
