Sushi Go, Sushi Go Party & Sushi Roll - the EVOLUTION of a best selling product line.

Ойындар

Sushi goes round on a conveyer belt, right? Round and round in circles, while diners pick the dishes they want to consume. How about a little wasabi to enhance your nigiri? And don’t forget the puddings! Sushi Go, Sushi Roll and Sushi Go Party all simulate the fun and excitement of watching raw fish rotate - in card or dice game format. I guess that’s the hook!
I received a review copy of Sushi Go Party from the distributor. All other games were purchased at retail.

Creating Sushi Go Legacy is a viable task. Using story elements and altering the cards stack accordingly can create a unique experience. The digital game Dave the Diver creates such an experience, of a story-rich sushi restaurant, and a physical representation can certainly deliver a unique experience. The game sessions will still be quick and fluent like the original.

Nice idea! It reminds me of the Uno-like game “Blank” from Hub Games where players create their own cards in a meta-game over multiple sessions.

Hi Adam, I don't comment very often, but I've watched loads of your videos. They've been a great help as I've started my own journey designing board games. As soon as you said polyominos, I immediately got a picture of the game in my head! Thanks for the design challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to comment Daniel! I’m glad you found the video sparked something. I get a lot of my design ideas while making these videos. Thinking about other games always helps to inspire new ideas.

Sushi Go! The Dexterity Game... An electricly operated mechanism is moving around a conveyor belt with sushi ... Players need to pick the sushi that matches their cards with actual chop sticks... The catch is that the sushi are tiny and slippery and there are a lot of them, making it difficult to pick up the right ones... Staying as close to the theme as possible, while also making a nice dexterity game similar to Operation...

Sounds like an expansion for the original? Is there a drafting mechanism? That seems central to the Sushi Go brand - it’s in all four games in the series thus far.

Sushi Go where you can’t see your own cards is a great starting point for a design. Very similar idea to how my game Pikoko was born.

Oooh, a design challenge. I like this idea, immediately got me thinking and brainstorming. More more! I remember sitting in front of both Sushi Go and Sushi Go Party trying to decide which one to get. I regret not getting the Party version. Mind you, it is hard enough to get my kids to sit through one game of normal Sushi Go and to trying to explain to my 6 year old that he should collect other things and not just desserts!

Thanks Nicholas. Yes, I bought Sushi Go Party years ago when it was first released, then sold it when I realised I was more likely to opt for the original Sushi Go whenever I wanted a simple, portable card game - probably when playing with casual players. I always regretted getting rid of it though, so I was glad to receive this copy and cover it in the video.

Amazing video!, just to mention that the Party Edition has less cards from the "original edition", for example the original edition has 20 Nigiri cards in total (10 salmon, 5 squid, 5 egg) and the Party Edition has 12 Nigiri cards in total (5 salmon, 3 squid, 4 egg), and so for the other cards :).

Great breakdown of the various versions and variants printed in this line! Any chance your Adventureland copy is up for sale? That's my preferred version, and it's hard to find these days.
