Susan Tedeschi was born on November 9, 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts to a family of Italian ancestry, (Tedeschi means German in Italian) and was raised in Norwell, Massachusetts.
Derek Trucks was born June 8, 1979, in Jacksonville, Florida, in a family with deep musical roots.
Personal life
In 2001, she married slide guitarist Derek Trucks, who is bandleader and lead guitarist of The Derek Trucks Band. They have two children; Charles Khalil Trucks, born in December 2001, Sophia Naima Trucks, born in 2004.

Susan is incredible. Love love love her voice. The jam that backs her puts it over the top.
What an excellent band and a great voice, brilliant.

Susan had a hell of a great reputation before Derek came along. They make a great duo. Of course, Derek is God with a slide.
