He didn't expect to be hit with anything, yet the bullet didn't pushed him in any direction, he most likely just got shocked by the sudden impact and fall DOWN (not sideways) to the ground, and then without any delay just get up. Replace the bodY armor with a WAY thicker and heavier steel plate, ( not on your chest but in your hand, holding in front of you, which also can help absorb the impact as your hand and muscles are flexible) while running in the direction of the coming pellets with all of your momentum AND expect the hits.

This is Mr. Krabs’ monster form at the Bikini Bottom Horror, SpongeBob’s first horror movie. Mr. Krabs turns to this crab monster and kills one of the Patricks, telling them that crabs eat starfish. Patrick reveals that the krabby patty secret formula is starfish meat. The Patricks took Mr. Krabs apart and fed him a raw Krabby Patty. When Sandy and Squidward meet Mr. Krabs, a tiny Patrick (born from the raw krabby patty) busts out of the crab’s chest, killing him in progress.
