    My dad was born in the mid-70s and he laughed as he told me a story about a gym/track teacher buying him and a friend of his jockstraps and saying "this one would look good on you." He said that that was normal behavior back then.....How is that normal?! A 40 year old man should NOT be telling 14 year olds they look good in jockstraps! No matter what decade you're in!

  • @rageonlinetv

    @rageonlinetv

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yes, that is definitely inappropriate behaviour, and it wasn't appropriate in the 70s either! Sadly, child sexual groomers and predators often have a way of slowly and carefully "normalising" the type of sexual exploitation they intend to commit. Through weeks or even months of conversation, they make their targets feel like this behaviour is normal - when it most certainly isn't.

    I spoke up as a child a few months after I was abused, I wanted to stay quite so bad bc I knew if I told my parents I would have to tell other ppl too (like cops, courts, therapist. I thought if I didn’t tell I could just avoid the neighbor forever. Well one day my mom said that neighbor would be babysitting myself and my younger siblings and I freaked out. I told my parents. It was the best decision I ever made, bc I didn’t know at the time it was happening to my little brother too. I don’t think he would have ever spoke up. I’m really glad my voice stopped this monster from assaulting my brother and myself... but my younger brother was safe again and that’s all that mattered.

    I was 13 when my female teacher chose me as her 'target of affection'. I put up with it for 3 months. Then i told my parents, and they moved me to another school. Sadly my close friend ended up taking my place as her victim. He suffered for 6 months, and when he finally told someone, he was painted as a liar, the school claimed he was trying to cover up his own bad behavior. he is my age. 28. He didnt get help until he was 26. he tried to kill himself at 16. Hes only just started putting his life back together. And around 48 hours before i made this post, one of the other 5 victims i am aware of (she abused at least 7 of us) had taken his own life.

    I'm nervous to post this. In school, in gym class i forgot to bring a pair of shorts to change into. Rumor is, if you forget your gym shorts that we will be forced to go into the gym in our underpants. While my class went into the gym from the changing room, i stayed in the changing room afraid of being shamed. The gym teacher came into the changing room and brought in a bag of shorts and chose what he wanted me to waer. I expected the teacher to leave while i changed but he sat in front of me. He sat me down on the bench and started to rub my legs and said to me he wasn't angry. I tried to get up but he sat me back down and touched me. I tried to tell the principal but i dont think he beleaves me. He said it is time to handle my problems like a man. It goes even further but i dont want to talk about it here. What do i do. I want to forget it but i can't

    Sadly, it’s very difficult to forget about a traumatizing event, and I’ve had my own things that are hard to think about, it’s best to talk about it with a trusted adult like a parent, and to find a healthy way to cope. Never feel ashamed, it want your fault, nor was it right for someone to tell you to “take it as a man” taking it as a real man is the same way a woman takes it, with emotional pain and that’s normal. Just remember that you’re not alone, your experience is valid, and no matter how people may try to discredit or downplay it, it’s ok to cry about it. Real men can express their emotions healthily, which can mean tears. Sorry this is kind of all over the place

    I am a boy. When I was 11, I was sexually harassed by a man who seemed to be in his early 60s at that time. I was going to a friend's house (an apartment). I wanted to use the elevator to reach her soon. I was just about to close the elevator, when I saw this man who wanted to use the elevator, and so I let him in. As the elevator was ascending, he started fondling me inappropriately. I asked him why he was doing that. He said that he wanted to "check" if I was really a guy or not. At that time, we were taught in school that only women had the right to speak up when thay are being sexually harassed and that sexual harassment never happens to males. After the elevator ride, I went to my friend and told her about what had happened. She laughed and said that such things happen only to girls and not to guys and that no one would believe me no matter how much I try to convince them that I was really harassed. So, I didn't do anything about it till now, even after 7 years. But I do hope that this man has had a taste of his own medicine and that he never does this to anyone else.

    Dan, you are a very brave individual and you courage in speaking out is the first step in breaking the power that abusers have. Secrecy is their most powerful weapon. I too was sexually assaulted. Mine happened when I was drugged by a massage therapist who was supposed to be treating me for a hip injury following a car accident. The process of having to go to the hospital and submit to the sexual assault kit was invasive and uncomfortable, the trial and having to testify against him retraumatized me, and we settled out of court for $150,000. 2 years later on the day that the abuse occurred, my nonprofit organization, Project HOME (Helping Other Men Escape) came to be. Using the settlement money, I started the nonprofit and became an advocate for men who were victims of any kind of abuse; began hosting workshops to inform the public of the fact that men are abused and educating people on how to be a part of the solution instead of the problem; and became an activist for getting laws implemented to protect ALL abuse victims. Today, we continue to thrive and reach out to any man who was ever abused in any way with a message of hope that YOU are not to blame; YOU are not weak; YOU are not alone; and YOU matter. Be blessed Dan.

The 2 kids are in suspension and police and head of the department are involved, but sadly my parents don't know the truth because it will tear my family apart if they found out. Test the waters by praying to JESUS CHRIST and asking your parents how parents should handle your "friend" who had 'thus and so' happen to them. I guarantee the most difficult part for your parents will be that they weren't included on the list of those who needed to know.

    im a male and i have been sexually abused when i was 5 by a middle aged man, i can barely remember his face he works from a store near my place and i can remember that whenever i go out play with my friends he’s gonna join us and give some penny to my friends to buy some food so that they will leave and when it’s just the two of us he’s going to start touching me, none of my family knew about this i was carrying this my whole life and this gave me depression and anxiety. im afraid i might do the same thing to other kids when im a grown up

    I'm making a game where the villainess is a girl who has sexually abused/assaulted 3 of the good guys (abused one guy, assaulted two girls) and hates men A LOT. in the story she basically turns the oldest one of her victims into an AI powered therac 25-esque thing and takes advantage of her strength to literally try and kill every man on Earth but fails miserably and gets killed by the girl she weaponized and her friends sorry for the infodump but I just wanted to share my similar project😭😭

    Most incidents of young male sexual predation go unreported. Screw "societal standards". it's more "genetic standard" by which a young male victim would not want to consider themselves "a victim". Whether of a male or a female. Yes, the latter DOES exist. And again, societal standards aside: it is a genetic standard that a young male would NOT want to classify themselves as a "victim" -- even if it's all the vogue that a female victim would. I've seen (and believe) some polls that would totally annihilate the standard that the abuse ratio on minors is 75% male to just 25% female. There is a "reporting error" keyed more to "genetics" than to "social standards". More older women prey on young boys than is reported by statistics. But I would also raise the horrendous specter that more young boys are at peace with this than young girls in the inverse scenario. (Consider the scenario of Mary Kay Latourneau vs Vili Fualaau, and others)

    Well tbf young girls and women are at risk of pregnancy that's why women panic more about sexual assault (that also serves as a proof)...plus society condemns female victims as well by claiming that they either false report or deserved it.... Moreover i do believe there are more male victims as compared to female victims and boys being "at peace" with this situation isn't because they don't feel pain... It's because they can't report BECAUSE society doesn't takes male survivors seriously... Again.. Men not being able to report has nothing to with genetics? What are you on about?

    So you’re telling me, that on a video specifically on the topic of men getting sexually harassed, and how hard it is for boys to speak up because of society. You decide to make it about you, a woman being scared. Go to a different video about sexual assault on women but not on one about males.

    Temptations can be a bitch. Ppl who cannot control their own selves. It's lust it's like they're hungry for it they can't look for it anywhere else once they see it they want it. I live a life of paranoia where everything is as if is against me. What kind of life is that to always watch your back in the hoods I walk through, always having to watch every car passing by, or always having to look around me to make sure there's nobody following me. Danger lurks in every corner, every block, even in public places. The world's an ugly place but at the same time could look so beautiful....

    From what history shows, this was caused by a change in culture. At some point, porn media and companies like Playboy magazine started having so much power that they started infecting people from all age groups - and they know that the younger they start kids on sexually explicity material, the more perverted and dependent on sexual pornography they will be, because this causes such trauma and confusion that it turns off the moral barriers to bad behavior. Part of the contagion involves historical shift in the view of the purpose of sex from one of moral responsibility and care, to one of pure pleasure. That created the atmosphere for viewing people as objects, but too many people still cared about children. This was changed when pornographic sites started using cartoons and materials to paint children in a sexually explicit light. The ENTIRE purpose of this was to generate the _idea_ of treating people as sexual objects. This has far reaching, catastrophic, social effects, as we all recently learned. Pedophilia (most common among homosexuals and transgenders), STDs, fornication, infidelity, and divorce rates have all proportionally soared because people have been afraid - for years - of speaking out against the problems, or have been unkowingly force-fed that these were normal by these massive companies. Example: in 19th and 20th century, there were four known STDs. Now, there are over 100 known STDs, and of these STDs, only 4 have vaccines to prevent them; the rest are viruses, meaning they have no cure. This is the stuff we should be learning in schools. But for some reason, schools won't teach them. An undoubted historical compromise that occurred awhile back in public schools that many people today are unaware of.

I am curious as to how many of you actually are actually gay now because I can't help but think your first exposure to sex or abuse in this case coming from someone of your gender may sway you to become a homosexual.
