Survivor cook islands - Mutiny & aftermath.. Aitu 4 making it to final 4

Ойын-сауық

Yul, Becky, Sundra & ozzy were left when Candice and Jonathan mutinied... Their commitment, dedication, loyalty, strategic prowess and physical domination took them to final 4 which seemed impossible.
Love this season and this tribe.

    It's because the stakes were high. Life or death for any of them. And after watching the mutiny. It was great seeing Candice get sent to exile everytime they had a chance too. Being she betrayed them. (Penner regretted doing so. She didn't.) Plus watching a tribe with over twice the numbers, slowly go to nothing...it was epic. Even Yul using his idol to give them the numbers to do so.

    @@iggaga2812 It was a twist that could have also destroyed AITU if they had lost the immunity challenge. Production could not have predicted any of those outcomes (especially how that little tribe kept winning physical and puzzle based challenges over a team twice their size with some REALLY strong players) any more than they could have known Candace and Penner would mutiny to create the AITU 4. Nor could they predict that Penner would be convinced to jump back and betray a second time. Too many variables to control to support even the most creative conspiracy theory.

    @@wrc4286 The message on the bottle was not revealed until Raro was on the tribal council. If aitu had lost, it was easy to change the bottle. Survivor is a show, and production have to play with what they have to make a great show. When they saw that Aitu was down to 4 and had the chance to help them to beat raro, its what they did. And it was effective to the show. It was all after Penner and Candice changed tribes. Jenny's eviction, and the merge at F9... i don't think this is how the season was planned, but they took profit of the situation About penner betrayal they couldn't predict, but still its weird and stupid what he did.

    @@iggaga2812 Yes, Survivor is an entertainment show where EVERY season there are twists added by production that mix things up . . . why is THIS one incident concerning the bottle a reason to discount the phenomena Why is there an assumption that Raro would have won had not production interfered? The mutiny was the original interference by production that gave RARO two extra tribe members and placed AITU in an underdog position. Losing two members during that tribal council still never made up for the initial interference by the mutiny twist which gave RARO an unfair advantage. They still had an extra tribe member and production could in no way predict that AITU could get themselves out of that underdog position. My point is not that production does not manipulate twists to keep the game interesting . . . because we all know that they do. My issue is with with the statement: "It was ALL production" which completely discounts AITU's extraordinary tenacity, physical beasting of challenges, and masterful strategic gameplay that got them from a hopeless underdog position to the final four To say that is to assert that no Survivor winner deserves their win because of the twists production constantly throws in via tribe switches, weirdly powered immunity idols, redemption island, returning players against newbies, vote stealing and legacy advantages, etc. OF COURSE they do these things to keep the story exciting, but the players still have to maneuver through them and overcome odds that production can't possibly secure for them. Penner's decision to reflip was not "stupid"; it stupid for him to flip in the first instance! He was clearly on the stronger team before he impulsively flipped to follow Candace--who, like the rest of the RARO tribe, never liked or trusted him. Before Penner mutinied, I'm certain Yul would have went after Ozzy pre-merge (though I doubt they would have ever lost a challenge) and sought to take Penner to the end. After Penner's dumbest move of his game, Ozzy and Yul were so bonded as part of AITU 4 that Penner lost his ONLY opportunity to make it to the end, IMO. Yul strategically used his idol in a masterful way to regain Penner's alliance. Yul knew that Penner was selfish but also a very rational player. Not only did Yul threaten to use the idol to get Penner sent home; Penner also knew he likely would not make it to the end if RARO stayed in power. Adam, Parvati and Candace were never going to split up to take him to the end. We can only speculate whether the note in the bottle was switched What we do know is that the combination of Ozzy's physical prowess and Yul's strategic prowess--along with strong support from the two women, dessimated a tribe twice their size. The AITU 4 do not deserve any less admiration for their underdog triumph, nor Yul for his ultimate win. They still pulled off an exhilarating and difficult turnaround from seemingly hopeless circumstances--whether a production twist went in their favor or went in RARO's favor. There was never any point after the initial mutiny and Yul masterfully pulled off Penner's second flip that production could have predicted AITU's comeback or secured their regaining power. That's why I cannot fathom how someone could assert that this was entirely a production created win. If your issue is with how production ALWAYS interferes to make for more exciting game play, then that's a separate issue than how well the game was played and how justified a win occurred within those parameters. :-)

    What I disliked is that Candace was placed on the heroes tribe in Heroes vs Villains. She was a villain for sure. And she did the same thing in that season as well. Betray the tribe. Apparently she was an alternate so she was going to be placed in either tribe if someone could compete. And she wanted to be placed on the villain tribe from what I know. Specially considering the other very strong players he was up against in Parvati, Candace and Penner (stupid move of following candace aside), heck even adam, who could have been a contender in a different season. He was rational and strategic, but imo I saw no genius level plays from him because he didn't have to make them, no one forced his hand. These really depend a lot on who you're on the island with.

    Yul's idol was powerful but not invincible. The others could have got together and split the votes between Yul and Becky, meaning Yul would be forced to play it and either he or his closest ally would go. But there was too much ill-feeling due to the mutiny and Penner's flip, plus I don't think Ozzy was quite brave enough or strategic enough to attempt such a huge move. Yul pretty much covered all his bases.

  • @BrettMKW

    @BrettMKW

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Matt Hydra Cao Boi actually came up with the same vote split concept earlier in the season but it was never put into action. Rob attempting to do that in HvV was the first time I remember it being actually used although unsuccessfully because Tyson was an idiot. This should have happened at final 6. Ozzy and Sundra flip to join Parvati and Adam in a vote split. The only problem is this would mean if Ozzy/Sundra get to final 3 it would be with Yul (which is a loss for Ozzy anyway) or a member of Raro (which had all their tribemates on the jury). I'm not sure how Ozzy + Sandra + one of Parvati/Adam works out for him, and if he does the move earlier he won't have the numbers and will be voted out before F3.

  • @jc9406

    @jc9406

    Ozzy voting Yul and Becky out would have left him at the bottom of the tribe. As good as he is, he had to gamble on either staying with Yul and get just 1 person to flip or win every immunity challenge until final tribal. His odds were better with Yul.

  • @BrettMKW

    @BrettMKW

    8 жыл бұрын

    Man Bear Pig Not if it was timed right. He should have flipped with Sundra at final 6 to vote out Yul (or flush his idol and get rid of Becky), then go back with Yul to eliminate one of Parvati/Adam, and vote out Yul at the 4. It would have been Ozzy/Sundra/one of Parvati/Adam in the final 3 where I think he could have won. But Ozzy wasn't good at strategy, only physical domination. I think any player that relies solely on that isn't a very good player.

    +BrettMKW if one member of Raro had ended up in the final, they would have won. the only way feasibly to do that is if Jonathan had been in the finals. i think it's been proven time and time again, Ozzy fails at strategy. he only got that far because Yul and Becky were the ones putting it together and blackmail Jonathan into switching

  • @BrettMKW

    Asiacheetah Shouldn't have been too hard to get Penner into the finals. Yul's idol was way overpowered though, also there's no way Becky wins in F3 over Ozzy, maybe you're right about Adam/Parvati winning but I haven't seen that season in like 10 years. Speaking of Ozzy he's now coming back for a FOURTH season.
