It's because he was trying to use his abundance as an example of the abundance our heavenly father has for us. Letting us know all we have to do is receive from Jehovah in abundance like his own children, with the truck, multiple homes etc and that on our own strength we won't be able to have near as much as what our heavenly father has to give us. And all we gotta do to receive is show the love, hope, diligence and Faith necessary to be worthy in the sight of God...
