Surviving the Amazon Rainforest: Piranha Fishing and River Swimming 🇵🇪

Day two in Peru's Amazon rainforest was definitely one to remember. Our big activity in the morning was to fish for piranhas as well as many other sharp-toothed fish in the Amazon. After sticking our homemade rod (which was a stick with fishing line) into the water for just a couple seconds, we whipped up several different kinds of Amazonian fish. But, the excitement didn’t stop there! Later that day, just hours after fishing for piranhas, we found ourselves riding a boat to the middle of the Amazon River, so that we could swim in a body of water that’s home to, not only piranhas, but also anacondas, leeches, caymans, and electric eels. With shaky knees and racing hearts, we jumped into the longest river in the world, and checked that off our Peru and Amazon bucket list. Seriously, you can't skip the Amazon if you're visiting Peru! 🇵🇪
Thank you for watching Part 2 in our Peru Amazon series. Be sure to check out Part 1 and Part 3!

sobresaliente y asombroso (outstanding and amazing) video. 👍👍 This is like watching a classic movie. The story telling, expression, cinematography, lighting, editing, music and food critiquing is top notch, bar none. You guys are the best. The flow with the Spanish music is so relaxing. The suckling pig and roosted lamb in 300 year old restaurant looks delicious. Lack of veggie but with dessert 🍨is excellent choice. Claire, your Spanish is very fluent. Chad, your filling up free water reminds me of your Joshua Tree episode that was the video draw me in. We would do that do and save a couple euros. Chad and Claire, you guys are sobresaliente y asombroso (outstanding and amazing). Thanks for your sharing. Can’t wait for more food and adventure in Spain (your sixth country). Have a safe and fruitful journey.

I loved that there is no internet because it makes the experience more genuine and what the jungle is supposed to be. This is the type of hotels I like to help. What other animals did you see? Monkeys?

We really loved the lodge! It was exactly what a jungle experience should be like. We saw some more birds, but we were unable to capture them well on video. We also heard some more monkeys, but did not see them.

Wow! I am just getting caught up. I spent a month in Chad's home base state hanging with family, friends...fishing, good food, good times. Isn't every horror movie about the Amazon based on the Amazon river? Wasn't Predator also in the Amazon and Arnold had to take it all down? LOL. Anyhoo - we're up to vlog #90?!?!?!!! Well, need to start chilling the champagne for #100! The production behind the camera(s) or in front of, plus editing, is seriously getting better and better. We'll soon see "Chad and Claire are out and about!" on the travel channel. Keep up the good work! "Fill your life with experiences not things. Have stories to tell not stuff to show"

Very Cool! I remember back when I was in college a friend had a Fish called an Oscar and it was aggressive like a piranhas so I guess they come from south america. Are certain areas safer to swim then others or have the "Piranah" stories been exaggerated lol

New sub here. So jealous of your journey. Just curious how the tour sustains itself with just a few guests? I did a tour in Brazil a while back with about 40-50 people crammed in a lodge, the activities were just the same as yours but certainly not such an exclusive/personal experience you got!

Also the earth edit made me chuckle 😂 and your happy faces holding the fish reminds me of my animal crossing character lol.
