is a challenge bro but for lisbon if you went to a grocery store, you could buy traditional portuguese pastries (pastel de nata) for 39 cents each or less if you take 6. just an example, your 11 euro pancake, imagine how many pastries

1-You dont start eating, then request another one. So when you saw it with Jam, you should have asked for honey as it states that red fruit pancakes with honey! 2-No, the Portuguese do not build "houses" for the dead. Those simply mean they were wealthy families. They do have normal grave stones. 3-Instead of going to a comedy show in "English," you should have gone to a "Casa de Fados" to dine at the sounds of the Portuguese singers and the feel of true culture and then maybe go to "bairro alto" for a night life vibe (Friday and saturday). Portugal is expensive. However, I feel that you could have done much more if you had maybe done some research before hand.

Castelo de Sao Jorge (Highly recommended) - 10 euros. The Miradouros (Lookout spots) are free. Return ticket to Cascais 5.50 euros. Same with Sintra. For snacks, go to Aldi, Pingo Doce and Continente. Hostels are cheap and so is buffet breakfast. Also, to go on top of the Lisbon arch is 3 euros. For hostels, I'd recommend the Home Lisbon Hostel in the centre of town next to everything, plus it has a lounge, dinners and a bar with cheap drinks. Lisbon can easily be done on a budget.

Yeah this challenge can be impossible Cus the centre is so gentrified specifically for the tourists to spend a lot of money. I could tell you ways you’d save a lot more money in my home city Lisbon. Like going to supermarket for breakfast. Going to local areas for cheaper restaurant food that serve more authentic Portuguese food Cus some of those restaurants in the centre are not even authentically Portuguese and have overpriced meals that could be cheaper if you went further down to the local areas or even * JUST VISITING SHOPPING CENTRES* for restaurants.

Pancakes are not Portuguese. Toast or toast with cheese and ham and coffee is our breakfast. You should Include data in your budget so that you can research what is traditional and what ,is not. Having said that , it’s getting more difficult to do traditional in Lisboa. Honest Greens restaurants are very good for vegans and vegetarian. Grocery store like Pingo Doce you can get a large coffee with a roll for one euro, and you can sit down. There is a Pingo Doce near Rossio train station

Eating vegan in Portugal is expensive.. I would spend half of that on traditional food. Also most of the vegan options are for tourists and inflated even more, still Im surprised you found such average priced vegan food, definitely wouldn't find it outside of Lisbon and Porto. If your really on a budget you can go into the supermarkets and they have cheap take away if you can warm it at the hostel and a variety of sandwich and snacks, also most bakeries will have some big sandwiches, pizzas and such quick meals that many locals frequent, but vegan is hard.

A portuguese breakfast is espresso coffee and cigarette. if you don't want to be dead by 50 it's a toast/brioche croissant/some pastry with a latte. if you want to live over 90 it's a shot of espresso and a banana. never in our traditional menu would we eat pancakes with berries. we are all upset because you were lied to! also and i'm sorry to say but it's impossible for you to eat traditionally as a vegan. there are starting to appear decent vegan alternatives to traditional portuguese dishes, but it's never the same.

Used to love his videos when it was initially started. But as times goes on, his videos are getting more and more cringey. It's turning from legit survival hacks to just exploiting the advantages that is presented. One example is the pound cafe where he only paid a pound to eat a full meal. The staff suggested for him to comr back another day to help with the kitchen to get another free meal. Was told to clean up the kitchen thoroughly, but instead was complaining he had clean up the whole kitchen. He thought it was just for show. 2nd example is where he was asking for free samples. I forgot which video its was, but after given the free samples, he said "thats it?". Like wtf. Thats why it's call a sample. Its turning from ethical hacks to juat being plain ignorance.
