after binging your videos it finally happened- i had a match as mercy where i didn't die!! i didn't even notice until my friend pointed It out to me, that's the first game i ever had with no deaths!! i was flying a lot more too and boosting more than i usually would so i was so happy

I'm climbing from Gold 1 and your videos have inspired me to do get to GM! I'm very set on doing it and watching you is so informative, it's amazing! One thing I noticed is super different for me is that my offensive beam usage is waaaay less than my healing; is that an elo issue (lower elos just position worse/take more damage because of that) or is that just a bad habit of mine and I need to work more consciously on using offensive? Hey Eley! 11:53 did you know you can damage boost Rampage while the damage over time is ticking? It's not necessary to damage boost it from the beginning for it to work

mercy in comp is pretty difficult bc it rlly relies on the teammates that ur damage boosting. boosting is so important for mercy rank

you have to play moira a lot to rank up. i went from gold 4 to grandmaster 3 by playing a lot of moira until i went to plat because the reality is that most ppl don't output enough damage, and it would have been better to healbot. play moira when the team is relatively coordinated and close together (maps with lots of walls and tight places) use mercy for more open planes. use mercy as a healbot if people are all over the place and can't coordinate. once you get into plat, you can start playing with 50/50 heal damage boost. The higher the rank, the more you want to generally use damage boost (basically that there will be more instances in higher ranks where you need damage boost because players have better accuracy). i remember following all the gm tricks (beam prioritization heal vs damage specifically)as a gold, and i kept losing. you have to healbot until you're high enough

80% damage boost and 20% healing? My usual games have 90% healing and 10% damage boost. My team always desperately needs healing i can hardly use damage boost. Or maybe i think they need healing more than they really do

Your healing boost uptime doesn't determine your healing output. You can usually always find situations where you've done 'empty' healing, where damage boosting would have given you some extra amp instead.

i was wondering if you've ever done a bronze to gm climb on mercy only? i feel like climbing out of bronze 5 on mercy alone isn't possible with her kit doing little to no damage in lobbies where no one has a brain (teammates with bad positioning that do dumb things and don't protect support). i played mercy only in solo queue bronze for the longest time and it didn't matter if i always got most heals or lots of wins, could never leave bronze. after switching to support that deal damage, i climbed from bronze 5 to gold 3. i'd like to see a gm mercy do it just to know the system isn't broken tbh

HEYA! I'm the perfect answer to this! I absolutely agree with you. I climbed from gold4 to gm3. No matter how hard I tried to damage boost and heal like the grandmaster mercy players, I kept losing and I would barely have any damage amp. I just was hard stuck in gold. I decided that the damage boost was not working, and that's when I realized I have to simply healbot. Use Moira for maps that have close together walls (to bounce orbs) or a team that coordin ates and groups up. Use Mercy for maps that have a lot of open space where you would have to be mobile or a team that is spread out and super uncoordinated to healbot. Once you get into plat, you wanna start doing a bit more damage boost in a typical scenario. When you're in gm, you wanna damage boost as much as possible. Other than beam prioritization, you should folllow the general positioning and tracking tips. Beam prioritization is heavily influenced by your rank and if someone is insanely good.

they can focus on dmg boost in this bid bc the kiriko is helping heal a lot. it usually depends on who the second support on ur team is and how well they can heal
