Surviving A Roller Coaster That Tries to KILL You In 1 Minute | Euthanasia Coaster

Ойын-сауық

Fear has always been associated with roller coasters. Many have developed phobias to coasters because of how intimidating they appear. Despite how tall and fast they go. The odds of you dying on a roller coaster is highly unlikely. Your average amusement or theme park will always have the best safety protocols to keep you intact. However, 10 years ago a so-called engineer made a roller coaster model with the sole purpose of killing the riders. If this was a new roller coaster today, it would stretch taller than kinda ka at Six Flags Great Adventure. Travel faster than formula Rossa and have the highest g force of any attraction. Still, after some research into the ride. I found that if this was indeed built, you can in fact survive. So watch and find out, while also realizing the engineer is kind of a lunatic.

No, I think the button at the top of the hill is a great idea. Imagine building up in your head for years that you want to die, and this is how you want to go. But then when you're actually taking that long, long climb up the hill, the physical reality of what you're doing sinks in and you panic. You don't want to do this anymore. You want to live. Imagine now that there's no button, and you spend the rest of that long, long climb screaming to stop the ride. Begging for your life. That's fucking horrifying. Having a last minute chance to opt out after you've climbed the hill is honestly the only ethical way to make this coaster, imo.

This is actually a very interesting point of view. One could totally do some math based on some statistics in order to compare the risk of death between driving a car and riding a roller coaster. But that person would have to keep in mind several things though, so it's not an easy task: 1: It's more dangerous to drive a car in some countries than other countries. 2: It's more dangerous to ride a roller coaster in some countries than other countries. 3: It's more dangerous to ride some types of roller coasters than some other types of roller coasters. 4: If one is drunk or on drugs, the chance of that individual dying while driving a car increases a lot more than if that person rides a roller coaster. And some other factors as well probably

Keep in mind that most roller coasters are operating every few minutes (or constantly with multiple trains) for hours a day, seven days a week, for decades. And whenever one actually has an accident, it makes the national news. Car accidents happen multiple times a day in every large city on Earth. Even if you drive only once a month but ride coasters every day, you're probably STILL at far greater risk in the car than on the ride.

Even so, hundreds, maybe thousands of people will ride a given coaster at a park, maybe 20 to 30 people at a time, so even if the ride is 20 minutes, that's 40 to 60 minutes of riding time in total, likely as much as, if not more than the average time spent in a car each day. How many times have you heard of a coaster accident vs car accidents? I think that statistically, coasters are far, far safer than driving.

Fascinating! I love hearing thoughts about stuff like this. Here's my thoughts coming from an artist. (Note: I'm not familiar with this guy's other works) The euthanasia coaster is definitely an interesting idea to think about, and I'd consider it a very successful art piece. Setting logic aside, the point of it is to make one think about death, and just by me typing this comment, I'd say it definitely does it's job. There are so many ways to look at death, most perspectives being about "fear of the unknown". Death is something we don't understand and can't control, and because it's so far out of our control it terrifies us. Now, roller coasters are the very essence of "being in control" every loop, ever turn, even the seat of the coaster was taken into consideration into making it safe. But the thrill it gives to it's rider is a brief moment of our body feeling out of control. As in sensory overload, gravity shift, being thrown around without a choice...it's almost a glimpse into what it might feel like to face death. But at the same time not really, because the coaster is totally in control and the trust we put into the coaster to keep us safe is what makes it into a pleasant experience. It's a bit like watching a scary movie on TV, it's a controlled illusion of feeling totally out of control. So with all that being said, the significance of this piece is not so much as "this coaster will kill you", but to think about death differently. It's a visual argument for letting people be in control of their end and making that choice feeling safe and confident. Now, with all that being written, I totally chuckled at this video talking about the logic. It's like trying to take figurative speech literally. But it was very interesting! 👍

For some reason whilst it’s moving after the lift hill I’m fine, which is why I end up gritting my teeth and doing it. My daughter is obsessed and Daddy won’t go on many, so I’m ‘volunteered’ because she’s only 8. She dragged me on storm chaser, (like waltzer cars, they free spin as you go round) and we were put in the 2nd row of the first car, so we went up the lift hill backwards. It was horrendous (coaster was great but the lift hill was terrible). I adore the Hulk coaster in Universal IOA, I’d rather go on it 20 times than storm chaser again!

Not sure if I missed it but I scrolled down through the comment section to see if anyone wrote about the two poor souls that went over and off the rails in the beginning. On a different note I remember doing something stupid as a teenager, me and a friend were punching each other back and forth for kicks while the roller coaster was making loops and turns. For some reason it felt more relaxing than just sitting there.

My friend works at a theme park, he actually works on one of the coasters you showed! He’s terrified to ride most coasters, even the one he works, not because he thinks they are unsafe, if you ask him he thinks they are one of the most safety focused designed machines. He’s just got a legit phobia of heights.

I've never understood the fear of rollercoasters. I have a near-paralyzing fear of heights, and I've never had any trouble on any rollercoaster. Absolutely love them. If you get motion sickness, that's a different story, and there have been some rollercoasters that were just too mechanically rough for me (I don't like getting whiplash on a ride), but I've never even been the slightest bit worried about one malfunctioning. I've never been to an amusement park that wasn't pushing hundreds or thousands of riders through their coasters every day.

It’s not a fear of getting hurt, it’s a fear of being out of control and not being able to stop the ride if I have a panic attack. I have it so bad that I can’t even go on kiddie rides. It’s horrible. 😢

@@ProJello2 I don't know whether to be angry with you or agree/laugh. I know I have an issue. It's a deep-rooted childhood issue. I'm in my late 40's and I don't plan on going on any amusement park rides anytime soon, so I think I'll be ok. Plus I'm fine with cars, buses, planes, etc. - it's just rides. So this fear is not exactly something I need to really work on at this point in my life. But thanks for your input.

Hello! Thank you for including the metrical system, but you should had put that info in Km/h and not in m/s like as you did with the miles. That is like if you had put miles per second in the next thing. In the cars we also use km/h not m/s. I hope this helps for future videos :)

Great video. The only error I noticed was when the uploader described maximum terminal velocity as 250mph, when in fact it's about 120mph depending on the drag coefficient of the object dropping. I think he meant 250kmph.
