SURVIVAL WALKING STICK / 4k FORAGING & BUG OUT STAFF TOUR

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Do your bug out essentials include a survival walking stick or survival staff? I made this PVC walking stick with essential bug out kits. This is an emergency version of my bug-out kits that can fit inside and although there is overlap these are meant to help get by in emergencies and meant to help in rough terrains. Come foraging with me as I forage for wild edibles and give a tour of my survival staff too!
Special thanks to Uncle Al ‪@Diebulfrog79‬ and Mr Robert ‪@homesteadaquarius‬ for challenging me to make a PVC Walking Stick and to Mr Charles ‪@BushcraftFamily‬ for also encouraging me to learn survival skills!

One of the best presentations I've watched on this subject, what a talented and well prepared young family. A bonus to your design is you can just change out a section for a longer one as you grow and even screw the three together for extra reach when foraging something too high up. Well done....

Nice walking stick Trie! When I go hunting with my dad and my brother we carry some of the same things on our quads. I had bought permanent matches for the three of us because they are supposed to light even when wet, but the are kind of temperamental, and were difficult to light sometimes. We carry lighters and have matches sealed in vacuum bags along with the permanent match. We always have food and drinks with us, and of course knives and our pew-pew sticks. You have done well with your bugout prepping, and building the walking stick! I would love to see Kay-Kay and Bunkie's walking sticks too! God bless you and your family!

First time viewer and avid hiker for decades and fellow KZreadr. First, I want to compliment you on how poised you are in front of the camera. Second, I want to just say what an outstanding video from a usefulness standpoint you have produced. Great job! One though I have about the staff is that, living in the mountain west and using walking sticks for years, I find that they are more useful if they have at least a bit of a point to make purchase with the ground. Don't know how you would do that with pvc pipe, but you seem very inventive so perhaps you can come up with a way.

Also super important item clear or the yellow safety glass . when walking in the woods especially in low light they keep bushes from hitting you in the eye . You can tap an oak tree for water just like you would a maple tree. A metal drink straw can be cut down shorter for this. A dollar store bandana can be used for filtering water or wear around your neck to cool you or could be cut into strips for fire making. Several uses for it or a hot pad when handling your cooking items. Just fold it several times. Love your walking stick project. And you did a great job with your wrap of Paracord on it. I learned to do it from a U tube video. And it takes quite a bit of time to do and get it nice and tight. Love that you did all the colored as well. Well thought out and did a very neat job on it. Always good to have those backups as well. WELL DONE!!

Excellent video. You did a very good job on your presentation. I really like the walking staff. That's pretty cool with all the se tions and thoughtful items included in its design. Good tip on the Mullien use and remembering where you found it. You may see small first year plants growing in the grasses nearby the spent ones right now I bet since it blooms the second year. We call the mullen leaves toilet paper plant here and people use them in a pinch. 😁 A note on the plant at your feet you thought was lamb's ear isn't Stachys byzantina, aka lamb's ear. It is another flowering plant, possibly Lychnis coronarea, which is Rose Campion. Rose campion also has silvery green leaves covered with tiny hairs. However, Lambs ear has shorter leaves that have longer soft hairs and doesn't grow in a rosette, but is a ground cover that will send up silver flower spikes that bloom in spring with numerous small soft purplish pink flowers. Btw, historically Lamb's ear was used to bandage wounds. Much nicer than used for TP.

@@vineyardchickshomestead Aluminum is a very light and useful material. I am not saying that it should be avoided at all costs in all areas of life. I also have aluminum tools. However, it is very important to avoid aluminum in areas related to eating (and drinking), because this is when this substance can enter your body. So NEVER use aluminum glasses, plates, pots, pans, cutlery, knives, forks, spoons, tray for food and never wrap your food in aluminum foil! You can believe me, I'm a 57-year-old man and I've been involved in the real sciences all my life. Metallic aluminum didn't exist on Earth even maybe 200 years ago, it's an artificial creation that our body couldn't adapt to over millions of years in the past. Aluminum accumulates in the brain cells, it cannot be removed from there, so it causes numbness in the long term, which is not good at all. But we may say that it is okay if you have for example an aluminium desk, or shelf, rack, stand, chair...

An orienteering compass can save your life. Your glued on compass is less accurate. Thanks

Survival walking staff should include some weight for self defense. If you have to clobber someone or a wild animal, you want them to feel it. PVC seems like it would be light.

Maybe a heavy padlock on the paracord.....for self defense.
