I am SO glad that the safety was on! This all could've ended horribly if he had been able to shoot it. I am also glad that the father was held responsible for his actions. The kid did seem so comfortable with it, showing he's held it before and see it go off by the "pew pew" reference. That dad knew but tried to play dumb EDIT: I know now that it doesn't have a safety. The point still stands that I'm glad he couldn't shoot it

@@no_name_needed8926 Safetys on guns can prevent some accidents but in a gun fight you're at a disadvantage. You'll forget that it's on, be slowed down and get shot first or disarmed. Training helps a lot more and being a responsible parent.

Since you don't know guns, I'll explain what that means. That means the gun could not fire. Period. Pull the trigger as many times as you want, and it will not fire without one in the chamber. The kid is quite beefy, as someone else put it, but he's not strong enough to rack the slide, and chamber a round. While this is horrible to see, the kid was actually in no danger. It's a great clip to get people riled up, though.

I don’t think it was charged or loaded

As a parent of loss (of hereditary issues not firearms), when he muzzled himself right in the face, it made me physically ill. I'm a responsible gun owner and everything is kept in safes. Inexcusable to not even have a $20 lock box for a $300+ gun. This kid seems dangerously comfortable with it as well.

I feel terrible for the kids in situations like these, but zero remorse for the parents. Even in the worst cases i believe that they deserve to be charged to the fullest extent. There's zero reason a child should be left unattended with a fully functioning firearm, let alone having easy access to one.

@@EvanDevvv They checked, dad said there is no gun, they were leaving and telling the lady who reported that if it happens again, call us, and an upstairs neighbour intercepted them on their way out of the building with the video, so they turned back around, went in, searched the apartment, got the gun, called DPS and arrested dad. Without that video, they were gone.

I saw this live. The most disturbing thing was the cops were walking out the door when a neighbor stopped the cops and said "You have to see this." The people who called begged and pleaded with the cops saying "The kid has a real gun!" The cops responded by telling them to call 911 if they see it again. How dare they just blow it off as no big deal. I respect cops but this was assinine!

They probably get all kinds of bogus calls. One neighbor against another neighbor; needed probable cause to search the apartment. Once seeing the video the cops got gave the go ahead to return and search. The cops were following procedure. Good job officers b

May be so but in real actuality, in an emergency you dont call 10 digit phone numbers especially in a case like this you dial 911. They can type in certain information needed for the officers being dispatched to the scene. And they'll contact the correct authority or entity quickly and promptly to act fast and only who you need on scene. Fact.

4 years old and not potty trained..

Even without the gun, the father should be charged for neglect. I wouldn't let my 4-year-old go out the front door by himself.

Something tells me that child thinks it’s a toy if he named it “pew pew!”

And this is one of the reasons why you shouldn't shame someone for not wanting to have children. As you can see in this video, not everyone is meant to be a parent.

It's like the 6 year old who had a gun.

I hope child protective services will take good care of this disturbing situation like that little toddler is so lucky he didn't accidentally shoot himself. I truly hope the child is safe and sound. 😔

I saw this on A&E's On Patrol: Live. It was appalling. Fortunately, the father was arrested, and the child is in the custody of the mother from what I heard.
