Hi @sushalwayskhush, we contacted the Brampton BLS centre for shipping label, chose option 5 then 3 to connect with representative. They took details and emailed payment link and then shipping label. We paid $124 for pickup & drop off service by Purolator. People wondering why we can't send it ourselves is because BLS has integrated only Purolator into their system for their own tracking. Also, fee has been changed to $38.7 as of today. Will be good if you could update your video so that community can benefit. Thanks again.

Hi, since the photo was pasted on application form. I did not had any stamp on back of photo. Usually studio name and date is stamped of photos. But i did not put anything like that. If u r unsure, u can call BLS to clarify.

Hello! 1. Since u r going in person, BLS Should present u with an option to pick up or pay them there itself for drop off by purolator. Y 2. I’m guessing you’re talking about expired Indian passport? Is this the only passport you have if you have a renewed Indian passport then you just carry the renewed one otherwise even if the Indian passport is expired, you still need to take it 3. you need to print the bio pages of both the passports. Since you’re going in person, please remember to carry all the originals with you.

Hi, nice video. 👍 Can you please clarify point (e), the xhecklist says we need to submit the original Canadian passport too: Please enclose photo page of your Canadian / Foreign Passport having photographs and details of your passport. Original Passport is required to be submitted for verification, it will be returned back after verification. Copies must be self-attested (signed) by the applicant.

Hi! Thank you.. The checklist is not yet updated. You are NOT REQUIRED to send Original Canadian passport. Only self attested copies ( your signature and date) . The only original thing you will send is ur indian passport. But if you are going for in person appointment then u keep all originals alongwith their self attested copies . Hey thank you for this video. Is there an amount difference if I booked a postal option through the website link vs booking it on the phone? I had applied for a PCC previously and noticed they were charging more if I booked it through the phone so I booked it myself on the website. I wonder if them removing the link is deliberate. Also, in the BLS center on the checklist, should I just write- Toronto Jurisdiction?

Hello! BLS never fails to amaze us. From what I understand is when you book it through them, they put unnecessary charges like add-on services that we are not sure about and sometimes people don’t ask questions but when we do things online, we can check whatever we need for example, photographs, or photocopies, etc. since they have removed the link, you need to call them to book the postal application, but make sure you ask them for a breakdown of the charges that they’re asking you if you feel something is not reasonable you can always ask them to remove. For the BLS centre you need to put down the BLS centre that the file is going to go to, for Toronto jurisdiction, it’s Brampton. But you can doublecheck this when you call the Centre for postal application booking.

Love the video, thank you for making this. I have one question. I just recently got my canadian passport and suddenly I have to visit india. I don't think I have enough time to surrender my passport and get OCI. Will I be able to get an evisa on my canadian passport and use that to travel to India and then surrender my passport in India or when I return back to canada. Then apply for OCI ? Absolutely, u can do that.. do not use present your indian passport to the immigration officer in India. Just ur Canadian Passport and Evisa. I travelled to india on an E-visa aswell. I would suggest you do the surrender certificate application. Even if it’s in progress, you don’t need to wait for it to travel. Hi Khush, a quick question. How much time exactly it took to get ur surrender certificate ( including courier processing time). Is the total 2 weeks? I mean 2 weeks from the day you handed over to courier? The website is showing the processing time as 8 weeks. I have my flight on the 1st week of August. I am confused if I shall take the risk to surrender here in Canada or in India. Please advise!

Hi. It took 3 weeks in total including courier. If u feel it’s risky then u can take an E-visa and travel to india.. just put the application to surrender. And use ur Canadian passport to present to the authorities in India.

Hey! Had a couple of questions - 1. The date to be written in the Date column under ARN in the checklist - what would that be? 2. Would we need to self attest even the Citizenship Certificate too? Also for all documents that need to be self attested would the date underneath be the appointment date or the date we finished the online submission form or just any date before the appointment? Hello! 1. For the dates, it is best to sign the date of application submission: this shows that everything is done real time. No past or future dates. This establishes a timeline 2. You need to make a copy of citizenship certificate then Self attest it, Hope this helps💕 and please share the video in your circle💕

Yes. You can either walk in or book an appointment. But make sure u carry your original documents alongwith self attested copies. Kindly check BLS website as per your jurisdictions just to make sure nothing has changed since BLS is full of surprises

Can you please tell me when we get surrender certificate?? Right away in BLS after surrendering the Passport or it will take few weeks. Or can we do both applications in a single day Surrender and OCI.

Hi! Please do not send any originals. You need to carry the original if you’re going in person for verification but if you are doing it through courier, please send only the photocopy and self attest it. Checklist should be updated but then BLS 🥲 is lazy

U paid first then they sent u the link? Usually they send payment links.. i am not familiar with this😳 the photos are clicked at BLS as far as I know.. please give them a call to clarify. Also, when you book the walk-in appointment, it shows you two options, photography and photocopy services. Are you sure you picked photography

seems like they have removed a checklist from their website. when you click on checklist, it only opens a pdf which has all the steps for how to apply.

Hi! They have recently made changes to the pickup and drop off. The option to create the label and paying is not available and depending on your jurisdiction you will have to give them a call and confirm the courier charges.. The price should be $62 but BLS keeps changing so I highly recommend you give them a call.

@sravanreddy647 Hey! To be honest, BLS keeps making rules and acts as per their will. The checklist suggests you need to provide them with a copy of ur Canadian passport If u proceed without it then u will need to attach an explanation letter and acknowledgement or fee receipt that your Canadian passport is in progress. my recommendation would be to wait for CAD passport this BLS is unpredictable.

Hello❤️ you are not required to send original Canadian passport only self attested photocopy required but if you apply in person, then you need to carry all your originals with you so that they can verify but by mail you don’t need to send original. The only original item that you are going to send is your Indian passport

And we receive our passport back with certificate, I thought they will keep our indian passport

I understand we can apply for electronic travel documents if needed, but it's wonderful to have the Indian passport back. I am a PR and was eligible for all residency obligations and passed my citizenship test last year in June 2023. Now they are asking me for an in person interview. l am in india for the past 1 year and not working, but returning to take the in person interview for which they have sent an email. Will there be police clearance certificate required from lndia as l have been here for more than a year. Will there be an issue as l haven'tbeen working for more than a year due family issues? And what should l carry for the interview and what happens afterwards? Thanks

In person interviews are very common and some of my friends been through the same. They were called to verify their documents that were submitted. So please keep all your originals. If you changed anything along the way, keep those and take additional copies for submission. Remember any changes to ur submitted documents, u have to notify IRCC. They also like to verify the travel history and physical presence history. One of my friend’s interview lasted for like 5 min or so.. and he was also given the option to take the oath. 😃 so you might get lucky too.. Regarding your employment, your employment status does not count towards your eligibility/requirements.. so you should not really be worried about it. They could ask something like this-has anything changed since u applied, u can tell them you are no longer working due to personal reasons. Regarding PCC, if u have time, then get one from India..because you did stay more than 6 months. Otherwise you can get one from BLS here but that’s a pain. They should not expect you to have a new PCC since they did not specify it in interview request so even if they do ask you for one I’m sure they will give you time to submit. Hope this helps at the end of the day, IRCC reserves the right to ask you whatever is deemed reasonable to process the application. On another note, they did not ask my friend any questions about the citizenship test .

You can give it a shot at the passport office TATKAL basis. If they say yes and you are given the police station address then visit them and do the formalities. There is no harm in trying. Otherwise, as I said, they will give you minimum 30 days to provide one.

Hi, the link has been temporarily suspended. You need to call them. Go to BLS and under OCI services you will be able to see the postal application link that will show you the number for your jurisdiction 😁.

Ideally.. your surrender certificate should match the details of ur Indian passport. U can also attach an affidavit. This is a very common issue and people just follow the details as per their indian passport and gets approved. If u still not sure, please call BLS and clarify.
