I love that you address the fact that there is no such thing as "paperless" but being "paper less" is realistic! If I take a photo of something sentimental, I find it is easier to let the physical item go, but then I feel guilty about not addressing digital organization so it just shifts the guilt trip. I always thought myself lazy to rely on that "search" feature for my cloud. Thank you for giving me the validation/permission that this is okay!

I went paper less years ago but not as far as others have done. I simply prefer physical copies for many things and I am really tech challenged, I attempted to do the entirety digital back in 2015, got me in a real mess because I couldnt understand how to use the apps and ended up paying a small fortune to get all the late fees, reconnect fees, etc paid and get me back on track...with paper.

I’m planning to work on going Paper Less. I’m intrigued with your idea that I don’t need to over categorize - just get it scanned and use the search.

Other then gone billing paperless, except for one bill, I do not trust and feel comfortable in using computer and saving on disc. People can hack into your files and copy all your information and spread them all over the world. When have electric outages, you can't get onto your computer and Internet at all to email your documents to other companies at all, especially get them sent before the deadline. If your disc gets scratched up, you can't use disc very well. And when your computer completely crashes down to the point of needing a new computer, new computer has no saved documents as in Microsoft Word, Notepad... I prefer having paper copies of documents to back up to easily copy more on printer a whole lot faster without having to wait for the computer to turn on, waiting for your files to open up by going into few areas to get to your saved files, and then click on the print icon or wherever, then print it off. People just needs to be more cautious and pay attention to where they had put them at, and write in a notebook where all your printed papers are at. I love to write; can't write while paperless. This is only my personal reason and preference in using papers in and for everything. Hate paperless and not writing. Plus, since taught writing way before computers existed, I'd like to keep up in writing clearly as possible instead of struggling to write and becoming unable to read because of not keeping writing in present practice.

I’m glad you addressed this topic. I too think we should have both physical for those times we can’t access a computer for whatever reason and digital just as a backup.

Do you pay a fee to keep your documents in the cloud? I have an android, so Google wants to charge me to keep my documents/ photos.

That’s only if you go over a certain amount, I have one drive & Dropbox telling me to empty or get rid of some. Google drive hasn’t told me yet tho. I’m tech savvy but unfortunately I still have paper around as it is needed in some cases. I still carry cash but amount gets smaller every year.

PLEASE for the love of god do NOT put important documents on a “cloud” please scan with an old fashion scanner and put them on a hard drive.

And realise that the hard drive will also have a shelf life, it's not infinite. But yes, this, what you say, I agree!

Going paperless blah blah blah the only reason why people want you to do this is to make their job easier. I don't even know why they're asking if they want to do it why don't they just do it! Stop asking your permission.
