Mrs. Caldwell is my grandma! Fun Fact: She has 6-ish cats and she had to shut them in a bedroom to keep them from interrupting 😂

I love Mrs. Caldwell!! She was my first grade teacher… we had lots of “snowball fights” with crumpled up papers when we needed to get some energy out and have some fun! I remember visiting with her while I was in highschool and we talked about a poetry magezine I was editing for the highschool, she asked for a copy of all of my poems to keep for herself! She’s such a kind and warm person, and a great neighborhood friend;)

I am one of Mrs. Caldwell’s granddaughters. Fresh out of high school, I spent my first semester of college living with her and attending classes at a little university satellite campus. All my classes were at night, so during the day I would go to her class as a volunteer and help her for a few hours. She let me design and present a lesson and activity to help teach her students the phases of the moon using Oreos, and the students loved it! That was one of the big, inspiring moments n my life. It helped me realize my own passion for teaching. As a kid, I somehow already knew that from my grandma teaching grade school and my mom teaching music, that somehow that would come down to me. I am now happily, proudly working on my Special Education degree, currently working as an aide in an elementary autism classroom with plans to become a teacher of the same once I get my license. Grandma is the most warm, loving, inspiring person I know. I only hope, as the third generation of public schoolteachers in my family, that I can be as impactful and good a teacher to my own students as she has been to hers.

You've it the jackpot with a grandma like that...doing animation with oreos!! Now that's something I know will just turn my class into a hyperactive tornado of kids lol
You can tell that he reverted back to a 6th grader just super excited to show his teacher what he created! This was so wholesome to see!

"All of this gets passed on." At that point in the video, she had no idea how true that is. Thinking about her impact on you and your impact on an entire community online is pretty inspiring.
I love how Andy is so giddy in this one! His inner 6th grade self really shines in front of her. Such a wholesome video. Amazing video as always!

Instead of my teacher inspiring my first flipbook, YOU did andy, when i used to be terrible at arts and crafts, i stumbled onto your channel and i immediately grabed some sheets of paper and a light sorce with a pen. When i was done it looked so bad but i had fun and ive decided to make a new one to honor my old one, thank you andy, thank you for the inspiration ❤😊

Why are childhood teachers seem too always be SO wholesome?❤
I’m a fine arts teacher. I have always used my classroom to support academic classes. A few years ago, one of my 6th graders showed me a flip book inspired by your videos. That’s when I started watching you.
You can tell she is a passionate teacher.
You can tell how much respect and admiration he has for that woman 😭
"It's nice to be seen." LOL
This is absolutely amazing that you and your teacher have made so much of a bigger impact on each other than you would’ve ever imagined at that first lesson on flip books. This is what we need more of on KZread and the internet in general ❤

This is beautiful! I love seeing teachers who truly care about their students and are so willing to see how far their students have gone!
This is so sweet! As a former teacher myself, it's so wonderful to see what an impact she had on your life. She must be so proud of you.
This was great to see. The warmth and enthusiasm when she said "all of it!" just left me with the biggest smile.

Me too, I love her enthusiasm. Her warmth, enthusiasm and passion for teaching are more than likely what sparked Andy’s imagination. The fact that he got to share it with her all these years later is just awesome.
It’s amazing how you can trace all of this back to your 6th grade teacher… I think I have a 7th grade English teacher I’ll never forget.
This is so wholesome, and I love it. Also thank you Mrs. Caldwell you created a legend.
People may hate school but it is that one teacher that will change your life
Thankyou for reminding me we are all teachers to the next generation. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
She reminds me of my grandmother with her soft voice and enthusiasm for her students. But she also reminds me of MY 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Mobley, who introduced me to art. She was a real-life Ms Frazier from The Magic School bus! I loved 6th grade so much, and seeing this video reminded of her. 🥰
i had a dumb smile on my face the whole video. She's such an angel.
I recognize that pink dinosaur, the school, and the backside of the grocery store. Had my first job there too. I don't remember Mrs. Caldwell but my brother and sister might. I was a few years ahead of you. My daughter and I love watching your animations. It's always a treat when you post a new video.

There are so many teachers I wish I could visit as a 30 something year old man now. Miss Caldwel sounds like the sweetest nicest lady ever, just her voice alone made me think “yeah, she would’ve been one of my favorite teachers.” Thank you so much for sharing this experience!
I feel like I now know what Andy was like in 6th grade seeing the way he interacts with her. It’s definitely cool to see how this channel started, how far it has come and how it reaches people all over the world. Mind blowing to think of how any of our seemingly trivial actions might influence the world in the future. So I guess the lesson is, try to have fun and make people happy! You might just succeed!

Who knew that when she passed on this to Andy it would eventually pass on to millions of others. I guess I have her to thank for my love of animation!
I can't even believe how wholesome this video is! Andy crank in' out the best content per usual
What an amazing video. As a fellow teacher I can only imagine the joy she must have felt at that visit. To know a lesson she taught literally changed your life and who knows how many others. What a gift ❤❤❤
Mrs. Caldwell seems like a great aunt that you never see
This is such a beautiful video! Good teachers can leave such a deeply positive impact on their students.
This is amazing! Wish more teachers were like her. So passionate
This truly warmed my heart and made me feel all the emotions again of seeing my previous teachers after leaving their classes and telling them how much they inspired me on my journey in life. Thank you for sharing this very intimate and precious moment with us 😊😊😊
Had to hold back tears through this whole video. As always, thank you for sharing. You are an inspiration ✨️
Beautiful video. The ripples of those we affect in life are what makes every life worthwhile and meaningful. I think you underestimate Mrs Caldwell's animation, though. It's a snowman who winks to the camera then turns to the sun as he begins to melt. It's a very poignant metaphor for accepting the inevitability of death.
She is so lucky to have a student like him, she’s very grateful even since 30 years ago.
Oh Andy what a gift! Visiting with your teacher must have been overwhelming. Thank you for sharing!
U can tell his hand is shaking, he is very happy and nervous at the same time
this video made me tear up :( it's so GREAT that you got to reunite with one of your mentors :) AWESOME video

i love this video❤❤❤ its so wholesome❤ shes so sweet, everyone needs her as a teacher!
It’s crazy to think that one lesson she taught changed a students life
How awesome. That was absolutely beautiful and such an affirmation of teaching. I wish I could find my 5th & 6th grade teacher (yes I had the same person for both grades). He was such a great teacher. He cared about children and did stuff to encourage learning. He didn't point me down my career path but he did reignite my love of learning and the desire to be a lifelong learner.
This is absolutely cool. So glad that you were able to show her, as all educators do not seem to get to see how they have touched those certain students.
Andy your a very nice and Christlike person. That was a very inspiring story. Keep doing good things and bringing us all such needed wholesome entertainment.
This teacher is legendary. Gave 4 million and above people entertainment with a sheet of paper
Wow, this is great! Not everyone gets to see their teacher again, i love the enthusiasm and joy as you saw her!
This makes me want to relect on my teachers and where I am now, to make a reconnection like that. It was my kindergarten teacher who sparked an interest in teaching for me but I didn’t initially stick to that. I tried other things and finally found my way into teaching. It was only then, that I realized I could take that all the way back to my kindergarten teacher!
If it wasn’t for you’re teacher, probably none of us would ever make a flipbook. So I would like to say thank you to you’re teacher for that lesson.🙂

A very special time together-absolutely wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
The fact that one lesson in school inspired you to make this channel to inspire half of the world is awesome
I rarely comment on videos, but just had to let you know how much I loved this piece. So heart warming and inspirational. Thanks to you and Mrs. Caldwell. ❤
Hello, This teacher is so proud of what she brought to the young boy you were, as she should be. Thank you for sharing this with us.
