You should try Church. This is basic Christian ideology.

This is much deeper than you think. A lot of our baggage comes from resentment and regret and not being liked or being seen by others how you think you deserve, weighs heavy on us. Asking for forgiveness is taking that weight off, forgiving others is making peace and forgiving yourself is key to allowing yourself to do better. Self sabotage is very common and is often brushed under the carpet
