Search up Tuff Mounts. They have engine mounts / transmissions brackets already made for these mustangs for barra swaps

Your wife going to love the Barra very reliable motor and cheap to maintain. You can get over 1 million km out of a barra before a rebuild needed

Did not expect to see a Barra going in the mustang. Its cool seeing our Aussie motors get imported over, but unfortunately no AU falcons in America yet.

My god brother i daily drove a 67 coupe for 4 years and the stock 289 gave out on me. Just now getting to a financial spot to put some money in the car, and this video is very tempting. My uncle recently gave me his 66 fastback so I’m prepared to go crazy on my 67. Wanted to do a 1 of 1 5.2 voodoo swap but those motors are like 15k. It’s either save up for that or go something else unique and seeing these motors and how tunable they are is very enticing.

The advice is always great, took a leap of faith today to push myself into the direction I want to head in life Also STOKED FOR THE BUILD

I wanted to share this, because it really helped me. I ve seen somewhere on the internet post that was basicly saying: stop collecting all the knowledge and stop wondering about your problem and start actually fixing it. It came up to me again when you said start somewhere and i thought maybe there will be someone who will be in need to hear this, as i was.

Super interested in this build. I have a 63 Ford falcon that I'm going to put a Barra in myself. The two chassis are very similar so I imagine parts and things will be the same as what I'll need.

Deamm that advice fit me right away, im in the point like I don’t know what to do or where to go or what to chase in life 😢 like stuck in the middle of nothing. Working a boring ass job making no money not enjoying what im doing now is fucdd up 🆙

As an aussie ide highly suggest not keeping it N/A and just send a turbo onto it

i am so happy to see this build i wanted to do the same swap in my 1966 mustang i had everything ready to do the swap suspension was converted to 4link en coilovers but for medical cost i had to sell it so i am stoked to see it done

The geezers you are talking about making mad is the very ones that you can get the most help from. These cars are simple so don't make it overly complicated. I'm not familiar with these engines but you might want to go with subframes connectors regardless of what you do. Hope it works out well for you.

Imagine the swap with a Roadster Shop Chassis upgrade, can't wait to see it running tho, hard between this and Devins FK8

Def gonna follow this build, I wanna put a Barra in mine too.

Look into doing a mustang 2 front end, cheap and a great route. Get rid of the leaf spring suspension in the rear if you can.

Subbed for the build. Just an fyi, taxis in Australia made the gas barra popular as it was cheaper to run, they're also very popular with engine swaps as the gas barra came with beefier internals and higher compression so with a handful of mods you could make decent power without destroying the bottom end, and they're not hard to convert back to petrol. They were also cheaper then the Turbo Barra engines.

Evan I’m from Australia so trust me get pacemaker extractors trust me it will make it sound so good when it’s running

id look into getting some dakota digital gauges for it also keeps the retro look they are super clean

Look in to the maier racing leaf springs brotha! I wish I went that way instead of my ridetech 4 link. You can do a mini tub kit to and squeeze a little more rubber in the rear with the stock body or have a little fun and widebody her lol. A ford 8.8 off an explorer would be awesome to you just need to narrow one side but you could get one with 4:10 gears and lsd from the junkers

Really need to look into QA1 for rear and front suspension conversions. It will completely modernize the suspension side of the car

A nice T56 maybe magnum nice little 500 or 600 hp build since it’s for Victoria I can’t wait to see this! Ford 9 inch and alittle more low maybe some QA1 suspension stuff dope

Dominater motor sports in Australia maybe able to help you out on engine stuff; plazmaman for intercooler ,piping ,and plenum,,Walbro fuel pump ,standard fuel rail is fine,wouldn’t bother changing it,if you put a turbo on,it’s going to depend on how much power you gunna want at the rear tyres ,valve springs only be good for maybe 12 pound at best,over 14 pound head studs needed,and oil pump gears needed,probably best to do timing chain and guides,pity you could do rods and turbo pistons,Haltec computer to run it,though the standard turbo computer is good for 700 hp usually

You can get ford either t56 or tr6060 out of the falcons just rare as so good you got the adapter

Gray top….N/A stock, capable 450whp stock internals. Also change oil pump gears(weak point on all Barra). Can find GM trans adapters still, maybe not that company…but another company

there is plenty of NA ones which with the chassis set up will be fine, the length I doubt it will be much of an issue but the height of the block could be the issue

Please do some proper modern suspension and a big brake kit. Your wife would appreciate the comfort and safety of a modern suspension kit for these cars. Just for safety This is coming from some who daily drives a classic car myself. People are crazy on these roads and you won’t regret the purchase

that adapter is fabbot, I'm pretty sure they would have done it for you if necessary, they are still in business, Rudnik has a collab with them.

Look into QA1 suspension

NA they actually make decent power and torque due to long stroke. Thats also a grey top so factory NA and internals not as good as the turbo red top. Compression will be higher so be careful if turbocharging. Following with interest!

the early single cam pre au is just called a sohc but the au motor is an intech

Being a silver top, you wont make decent power without rods and pistons, you can get a bit but you NEED valve springs at least. And e85

Open tracker racing makes great suspension for the cars for a good price.

That thing could’ve been a monster with a 5.0 yote in it.

@@moparmadness8237 since hes not doing art Morrison chassis upgrades etc i wouldnt do more then a non turbo barra tbh as someone who knows how a handful these mustangs can be for someone who is not used to old cars. Driven a historic racing Mustang with 289 and 300 wheel horsepower and that was a handful even

Looking forward to this build but do your research before you turbo or nos a na barra . The mustang and early Aussie falcons are a similar platform, maybe some pointers there.

You could try swapping the suspension from newer mustangs, like sn95 or the s550

Do what tj did and get the different frame with more modern suspension

Would recommend dry ice blast the underside of the '65.

do a ford 8.8 rear end swap to help modernize it a bit plus till help hold a bit of power!!

Evan you probably can't put wider rims on these leaf springs so small turbo setup for like 350/400hp would be best
