    Some of you had messaged me regarding the answer to the #AIIMS question, where the least common nerve injury during thyroidectomy was asked? Mind you, neither neck dissection nor robotic thyroidectomy was mentioned in the question I have attached two references- One is from page 813 of Bailey (27th edition ) which clearly mentions the exposure of ansa cervicalis. The reason strap muscles are incised high up is to prevent injury to ansa and for better exposure. 2nd reference is from Indian Journal of Surgery where the same fact has he reiterated. This has been shown in the video Marginal mandibular nerve can be injured in neck dissection but that wasn’t mentioned here. #RohanKhandelwal #SMASHSurgery

    Regarding the burns question that sir discussed ..in q it was mentioned arms not the entire upper limb ( arm area is 5% n whole uppperlimb is 9% as arm is 5 n forearm is 3 n hand is 1 which totals Upto 9%). So the answer should have been 37 % not 45% .Sir plzz do reply if I'm wrong or the answer needs some correction .

    Sir Bailey has mentioned that if in a patient of gall stone pancreatitis with cholangitis with dilated cbd go for ercp within 72hrs for stone removal but what if the size of the stone is more than 1.5 cm or a larger stone .Will ERCP have a greater therapeutic role in eliminating the stone??? Because as the size increases retrieval of stone becomes difficult and impacting becomes more prevalent..

  • @lefthandedsurgeon

    @lefthandedsurgeon

    3 жыл бұрын

    Size is not the only criteria. If the patient is symptomatic and demonstrating signs of Cbd obstruction, then ERCP should be done
