The news reporter handled it very well. We are all humans, and everyone reacts in their own ways. Just like grief can be processed in so many ways. You can't fit everyone into your own expectancy standard for how to react to a bad situation. Many emotions flood you and i'm one that smiles when i'm nervous. A guy got in a car crash in front of me, he swerved off the road and hit a pole, and i got out of my car to make sure he was okay and i found myself smiling like crazy while asking him if he was alright. 3.9 Navy earthquake telegraphed a seismic shock wave imperceptible to the resident, but that energy sent this house of cards over the top. It’s quite common for buildings to collapse days after a temblor. Look at the interior shots of the condos. Many had thick travertine tiles on the floors. That’s a substantial amount of mass the building probably wasn’t designed for

If it's from poor construction I bet there was a lower level construction worker who tried to warn the supervisors during the building process but everyone said he was uneducated & didn't know what he was talking about
He’s so happy to be alive, I don’t blame him
OMG ,THAT look at the collapse is horrific. Praying.
That looks like an explosion.
I'm used to seeing pictures like this coming from third world countries where they don't even use rebar. But seeing this in America is shocking! I hope they get to the bottom of how and why this happened so we can prevent this from reoccurring. RIP 😞
Sometimes people smile when they witness something, horrific . Sometimes smiling hopes them cope with fear!
So sad. RIP to the victims and families.
This is what happens when you mixed bad engineering, and cheep labor, a disaster! Poor people involved 🙁

The engineering team knew this was going to happen, they just didn't know when exactly, could've been 20, 30, 40 years later. They made their money and they're out. Good luck finding them and the emails. This is too much weight to build at or below sea level on a bed of limestone with water right underneath.

@@justacinnamonbun8658 You think so , there are over 5000 high rise building from Brickell key to Ft laurdale , none have fallen like this , like A DOMINO FALL , SORRY , MORE TO THIS STORY .
I just watched the video of this building collapsing. You can see flashes of lights going off before. The collapse almost look like charges were set to fall building. A little sketchy
I saw the video of the collapse on NSNBC. It's hard to imagine anyone surviving such utter obliteration. The number of dead must be in the hundreds. Such a tragedy is hard to comprehend. I'm in shock at the horror. I pray for those lost souls. God help us.
I pray the injured are found quickly. And to all that may have died; may you rest in peace.
look at those skinny columns holding up the building

That’s what I was thinking, then salt and corrosion seems like a likely culprit, poor constructions and products to build it with:( Seeing the pair of bunk beds at the edge of the still intact side makes my heart break for all those who are now lost 😞
Praying for all , but just wondering if the Blast out in the Ocean by the Military the other day that caused a 3.5 earthquake had something to do with it ???

That is disturbing and shocking too, I woke up to this news yesterday morning and I’m shocked.
Absoultally tragic.. God bless all.

A combination of the explosion and really bad construction brought that Fed bldg down. Even McVeigh couldn't've imagined that much destruction.

Omg so sad praying for everyone.Manuel's tone changed after he interviewed the man.Manurl took on the tone and mood of the man he interviewed for a while.
the ground has been sinking slower over the year and no one took notice. I've been to the area and it's full of such high-rise condos in the neighborhood. How can anyone guarantee that the same can happen to those buildings?
Shout out to rescue dogs. If anyone is found it will be thanks to that dog.
It concerns me when something like this happens and it looks more like demolition and not a structural failure.

Surprising that a quality of news reporting increases in a situation like this one.
How can a building just collapse? I wanna see how this plays out and who is held responsible, my heart goes out to all that lost their lives and the family's that lost loved ones

Uhh because the ground is not solid, it moves and this looks like a sinkhole incident......no one is responsible, it's an unfortunate part of building on the earth......sometimes it gives way.

Sad, rest in peace.
It’s so sad thinking about all of the victims still unaccounted for. Hearing about some of them and their lives (like many elderly couples who retired and moved there, entire families including pregnant women and young children, newlyweds, even a couple who came here to get the COVID vaccine) just makes this all the more devastating.
