In any case unity of goals doesn't mean anything because pretty much everybody who isn't a sociopath thinks their politics would make the world ,(or at the very least their own country),a better place. Communists, socialists, social democrats, liberals, conservatives, libertarians, and fascists all tend to believe that their idelogy is correct. There can be some relatively smaller varriation in goal, for example my political goal would be to make the world at large a better place as well, (of course it's still practical to go about doing this by affecting positive change in your own country and your country's foreign policy but first and foremost I am a human being with a moral obligation to humanity over any other group to which I belong), whereas people who consider themselves, (insert nationality or ethnicity or other group here), first tend to devalue those outside their preferred group. Regardless we all still think that our politics if inacted would make things better so this, "the left don't have the same goal as me because they are doo doo heads", line of attack doesn't really make much sense. Now as for your characterization of the left as all a bunch of Marxists is not consistent with reality. The American left is not even close to being predominantly socialist. Despite what the news might tell you even Bernie Sanders is a social democrat who believes in nationalizing a few services and leaving the vast majority of services still provided by the private sector, not a proper socialist. Real socialism does not currently have a seat at the table in American politics so I don't know what your talking about on that front.

LA city council is honestly incredible. They have managed to go above and beyond every other city in the country for the absolute worst management possible. One could look at a place like Portland and say they’re worse, but that’d be to neglect the fact the Portland has much more difficult problems to solve, and it’s failures are in overcoming actual challenges and not, well, you saw the damn video.
