Nice video, keep up the good work! I wanted to comment on the batter life of the surface laptop studio 2. I purchased the unit (64GB RAM, NVIDIA GEFORCE 4060, 1TB SSD) as my main driver and have been using it every day for a month now. You'll be lucky to get 6 hours of batter life out of it, and that is just by using Microsoft office documents and light web browsing at 60% brightness, and 6 hours is being optimistic. Very disappointing battery life for an advertised 18 hours and a $4000 unit.

Thanks for bringing this up in a comment. I was talking to someone on Twitter with this model and they are having the same experience. Mine is the base model and the extra power consumption is likely the graphics card. The M Pro and M Max chips have a similar experience.

Very nice video!I was really surprised to see how small your channel is, given how well your videos are. Just a small correction: the MBP has the same SDR brightness of 500 nits. It only goes to 1000 nits with a peak brightness of 1600 nits if you consume or create HDR content.

The only PC gaming I do now is some casual WoW and Sims. I had the SLS2 and I returned it because I was going to get a gaming laptop, but decided to go with the M3 Pro Macbook Pro 14” and between the two, I’m shocked to say it’s the M3 Pro MBP.. on default settings, I’m running WoW just fine with absolutely no noise or heat, whereas the SLS2 was extremely angry to run WoW with the 32ram/1tb RTX 4050… maybe it would do better on the 4060 model, but I’m amazed at how the MBP M3 runs so smoothly. That being said, I did not buy either computer for gaming, and I went with the Macbook because it works so well for work and I don’t have a tether to Windows anymore, so I thought I’d give it a try. If it doesn’t work out, I’m getting another SLS2, but with the RTX 4060. I really do like and appreciate the multi-platform functionality and the Pen experience is great if you apply a screen protector. Get what you want, but the SLS2 is solid, for all the configurations, but you have to be willing to shell out some bucks.

Yes, the SLS2 is a pricey for the right model but also offers tablet functions without having to go out and buy an iPad!

@@JaimeJMarrero I agree. I think Apple Needs to ditch the iPad and start making 2-in-1s. I know they would come up with something amazing. The only iPad worth having imho is the Mini..

I am basically a software developer. Often play games for entertainment. And Sometimes have to do video editing for content creation. Which one should I go for? Surface Studio 2 or Macbook M1 pro chip? Please give me an overall idea. Gonna use it for at least 5-6 years.

Not sure what you use your device for, but I would actually start lookin at M2 Pro's Refurbished personally.

The Surface Laptop Studio and the Surface Desktop Studio is what I wish Apple would make. I really thought the iMac Pro was going to be it and then they discounted it. The Surface line are very impressive. I have used a Surface Pro and a SurfaceBook in the past. I did have problems with the Pro but that was more my fault, I bought one that was too low spec for my needs. But the SurfaceBook worked great for me, there was some hiccups here and there but no deal breaker or anything like that. The only reason I stop using Surface is simply because I just so used to Mac and the Apple ecosystem.

Yes, the ecosystem is tricky to leave, but Windows 11 has done great adding very similar features that work with Android and iOS! You can really get by now. Thanks for the view 🤝🏽

While it is true that the Laptop Studio caught my attention and I ended up buying it, I want to say my impressions. First the weight is important, it makes the pencil finally uncomfortable to handle, in addition to the step that the laptop studio has where you can't finally support your hand well. I was also disappointed to see that although I had already managed to start and install the software that I use the computer for those tasks it was desperate, once everything is installed it works well, but without using it too much the fans immediately start and a lot of hot air comes out of the sides near your hands being very uncomfortable. The weight and heat dissipation have been the reasons for returning the Microsoft laptop that, by the way, to restore it from the factory took a long time and the fans were always full. I think it's a problem with intel processors, that's where apple did a good job and could perfectly have a touch laptop with a pen, but that's what the iPad is for, when you realize that the weight and design of the product matters to use the pen the same is the reason why apple doesn't do it. Maybe an iPad with Mac OS would be the solution. Intel definitely has a job to do, I ended up buying a 15-inch air since I have a desktop and it is definitely much better in everything than the laptop studio. what's your battery life like? I'm getting just over 4 hrs just web browsing or remote desktop into another machine. Battery saver mode, 60hz, bt off.. everything I can think of. 32 gig 4050 model

4 hrs here on 4050 model. I even set it to only use the Intel and battery saver on

I know this is unrelated, but I just really appreciate you are not AI! Also thanks for doing this review, this is a little more of the content I was hoping to see. Yes they are both expensive, but I want to know how well they work for what they are. (Specifically I wanted to know about the Surface and if it could handle being my 2ndary workstation, and this did a good job at answering that question... ) The only concern I have left is should I wait for a Surface Studio 3 or is it really something for 2025 at the earliest, if even that. Also Pokemon in the background! Yeah!

hahaha, Pokemon Trainer for life! I think it's still a safe time to buy, especially if you need something NOW. If you're OK, just hold out. If the Studio 3 doesn't give you want you need you can still grab the Studio 2 at a discount

@@JaimeJMarrero Thanks! Yeah, I noticed some places cut about $1000 off the biggest version, so I think it seems worth it, but I haven't bought a windows machine in a while so I didn't know if they did that only because they plan on updating next month.

One small correction the MacBook Pro can go up to 1600, not 500.

Nicely done. I was luck enough to find the surface studio 1st gen with 3050ti, 16gb ram and 512gb ssd for $300.00 from bestbuy like new. Ended up upgrading the ssd to 4TB for another $200.00. For $500.00 Im real pleased with this

It's insane that Microsoft is charging a fortune for the Surface laptop Studio 2 and didn't include the I9. They always underperform and over charge on every single product they release. Crazy!

I9 would make it more expensive and would run too hot , not ideal, not to mention it’s a great touchscreen for creators, a pen , unique hinge for content creation mmm yeah price is right . Guess you missed all that

I own the MBP M2 14 inch and since owning it, I can tell you that it is amazing. If anyone is coming across this video, save yourself the trouble and buy an MBP. Not only does it run rings around any windows device, it will also last longer hardware and software wise, all for the same price as well. And this comes from years of using windows devices. But otherwise yes, very professional video, Nice one.

For most if not all applications the I9 will run faster than M2 chip even when underclocked. Not only that a NVIDIA 4060 provides significantly better performace. Macbook can last longer because it produces less heat but good luck if it runs into any problem because you will have to pay extremely high repair fees. There has been so many instances where apple over charges for incredibly easy repair and they purposfully lockdown hardware and software to make it impossible for third party repairs. 🐑🐑🐑

@@primekrunkergamer188 no denying windows devices have amazing hardware and the same can be said for Android devices however hardware is only as good as software. Windows has a tendency to let down the user. And I assume you’ve used a recent windows device so you’ll know the software issues it’s plagued with. I know people who run decade old Apple devices the way they were running a decade ago so at the end of the day it sounds like problem for those people who can’t look after their devices 🤷🏽‍♂️ Also, long live AppleCare 😜🍎
