the final segment shows the pincusion effect. feeding forward in small feed overs the front of the parts expands up more and more into the wheel and gets cut lower. that is why as he feeds back its in open air since the part has cooled and shrunk down. as he gets closer to the back where he started you notice it starts to hit on the ears and feeds out with sparks. That is because of dry grinding which has to be done alot. when coolant is on a grinder many think its cooling the cutting interface of the grains hitting the steel. actually it has almost zero effect on that its actually cooling the part eliminating the pincusion effect.

You will note at about 48 seconds into the video I mentioned turning on the vacuum to clear the grinding dust created during the process. So no, you do not need to wear a respirator while using this piece of equipment.

These shits so scary to use 6 months as a graphite persicion cutter fun to learn but cut wrong that mfkr flying you have to stand on one side for a reason or lose your arm or head personal experience I get a 100th to much once and its sound like a gun shot people from the office even heard it 😂

43 years in the trade as a toolmaker… do NOT use a sheet of paper for touch off… if I saw that in my shop whoever did it would pack their boxes and sent to the unemployment line..PERIOD! If you disagree that’s fine too..but you’d NEVER work in my shop a minute longer

Speeding up your recording is not helpful. If someone is too immpatient to watch a short video, a surface grinder is not a machine for them.
