Surf Fishing - CRAZY Action Packed Day Fishing Perdido Key Florida!

In this episode I Venture out in Perdido Key Florida Looking and Fishing for the notorious Pompano. The day started off slow but ended up turning into an action-packed day full of Whiting! With Winter coming to an end and Spring right around the corner, Surf Fishing here on the Florida Gulf Coast will start heating up, especially the Pompano. The I was surf fishing with were double drop rigs also known as pompano rigs, with a 3oz to 4oz pyramid sinker. The surf rods that i was using varied in length from 7'6 to 12'0. You don't have to use a big rod when surf fishing all the time but having a few is definitely a good idea. The pompano should start running here thick in a month or so, as of now the water temperature is still only 66 degrees. Whenever the water reaches 68 degrees is primarily when you will start catching a lot more pompano from the beaches.

Not sure how I haven't been subscribed to you but I hit that button just now. Do you find the whiting bite more on a regular bottom rig or a bottom rig with the floats & color added? I'm gonna do an experiment here in NC once the weather warms and they show up and see which works better here.
What size weight do you normally use for surf fishing?

Bob Sims Anywhere with beaches you can surf fish. All the beaches in Florida will hold Fish.

Thomas Campbell I don’t think it’s fiberglass, it may be, I love them! They’re only $22 a pop around my town. I love them and they’re definitely my favorite surf rod to date.

If it’s the daiwa FT surf rod then it’s fiberglass and that’s the price for them. I almost got one at the outcast spring sale but A guy that was helping out for the sale said it wasn’t a good rod. But I’ve seen it in your videos and it has good online reviews. Haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet but I will. Thanks bro

Kyle Knupp they’re a little pricy but perfect for surf fishing, especially when you wade your baits out. Don’t have to worry about dunking them in the water!
