Good video. But I think I’m going to stick to my EDC1-DFT. Just so used to having that 95k candela to reach out far. Also still not sold on the non replaceable battery in the stiletto. I like having the ability to carry a spare 18350 and or cr123s when I have a power outage or will be out in the field for a while. Plus when the 18350s wear out it’s cheap to replace.

Good point. However the stiletto pro is just an edc and not a shtf light. I agree with what you’re saying. The battery after about four years of life hasn’t degraded at all noticeably. I charge it once every two months maybe and can always count on it having power. And yes it gets used haha.

I used the original 1000 lumen stiletto pro or stiletto 2 whichever they called it. Carried it for years at work and still have it. But the non replaceable battery does suck. It no longer holds a decent charge and I officially wore the led out. It puts out maybe half the lumens it once did. But was a solid light with hard use for 3 years probably.

Gonna honestly tell yall folks when it comes for you to get a holster for your pistol and light combo the Werx holsters are of great quality and the fit and retention is excellent. I just received mine today took about 4-5 days for my G45 and Olight S which a lot of companies doesn't have to olight S combo with the G45. I am very happy with the fine tuned quality of this product. I highly recommend Werx Holster !

I know it's unrelated but if you guys can create a lvl3 duty owb holster that accepts multiple pistols locking off the light, that would be fantastic. Im a big fan of the quality of your holsters, own two different one but needed this kind for duty use. Problem is I have several different handguns i would like to practice with. Tried the blackhawk omnivore but had enough room between the trigger guard and the holster to fit a tractor trailer! Thanks for these informative vids!

What an awesome light! That's my dream light. I carry two lights, cloud defensive mch for defensive and an Olight baton 2 (I think) for an admin light that works well and takes up no room in my pocket. Yea man, that's too much money for the average guy. Maybe if you don't already own a fancy light you can justify spending that kind of cash on a light, but for a regular guy, maybe as a birthday or Christmas presents. Leaving hints for the wife and kids like you're Ralphie in A Christmas Story. haha. "you'll shoot your eye out kid!" Haha.

I'd love to see your impressions and testing data on the Nitecore EDC27. I was stuck between the Nitecore, Streamlight Wedge, and the Stiletto Pro. I ended up getting the Nitecore and I'm honestly impressed. The only annoyance I have, the lens has become fairly scratched because I carry my keys in the same pocket...but that's more on me than Nitecore.

Just bought one and it should be here in the next day or two. For me it was the form factor, candela, and features. I have a lot of lights and I'm in a position where I wanted my daily carry to be able to work in search roles and offensive roles. This will take the place of my EDCL-1T, which was great except for the candela. I have a PLHV2 on a short body but it's just bulky and I wanted other options for lumens. I do wish Surefire could have kept the exact same PRO 1 style body and just upgraded it to more candela. Hopefully the dual head style does not create too much bulk which is the entire reason I stayed away from the new turbo models.

I have the pro one and I guess I’m gonna stick to it or possibly something else. The reason I would not want the new model is cost and two weeks ago The pro 1 activated in my pocket and melted a 1 inch hole in my pants and almost set my manhood on fire. I had the light oriented down and I guess the switch pressed against my IWB holster. I was driving and almost wrecked. Scared the hell out of me. I have since oriented the light up without problems but I’m probably going to get a different light.

I carried the standard stiletto for two years and it constantly turned on my leg pocket, had barely enough candela, but battery lasted a long time and the light itself burned up a bit after thise years. Got the stiletto pro a year and a half ago and it hasnt turned on in my pocket a single time, the battery doesnt last as long, has the oerfect amount of light, but the emmitter burnt up after a year and turned yellow and lost its output. The stiletto pro is better than the one but i dont want the pro 2. Surefire has had my stiletto for 4 months on RMA and i miss it. If you wear a hat constantly like my you carry it bezel up so you can have a clip on hat light and i use it almost everyday on my hat and 5-10 times a day in hand. Love these lights but the emitters burn out to fast and RMAs take FOREVER.

I love surefire… I do. I have several. I have never spent a dime for repairs, they always send them back, working perfectly! The nearly $350 price even for a pocket custom is pushing it, even if using it every day. It’s definitely not a light you can hand to someone with trust. The undersized battery/short runtime could also be a deal breaker. Some technology threshold needs to be broken before this kind of flashlight is more mainstream. I love the concept but no, not worth it.

  • @project86xero

Just ordered one from EuroOptic. Love my Stiletto Pro... but it doesn't have a ton of candela. The new 2 basically has the same run times and admin modes I love with 7x the candela. I thought about getting either of the EDC DFT lights instead, especially because EuroOptic has them at $210-$230... but the super tight no spill beam isn't super useful for administrative stuff, and defensively I feel like it may create even more tunnel vision issues. Which is one of the problems I have with basically all the other defensive high candela edc lights like from cloud, modlight, etc. That and a lack of admin light modes. This solves many of those issues for me.

Good UI on the Stiletto and at least Surefire isn’t still a decade behind the times in their choice of LEDs. But the $65 (plus battery) Fenix PD32v2 is 1” diameter, 1,200 lm & 39k cd. It also has three output levels that also don’t get in the way of reliable & repeated access to full output. Buying one $350 light because it’s 0.2” thinner, is a single man’s game. If you can get your wife an kids to carry a capable flashlight spending 3X, 4X, 5X… adds up quickly. We have 4X PD32v2s as EDCs.

How would you compare this to an Arkfeld Pro?

  • @project86xero

    @project86xero

    2 ай бұрын

I have the pro and pro 2. An my buddy has the Arkfeld Pro. The Arkfeld pro is basically like the old Stiletto Pro in terms of lumens and candela. The Pro 2 has basically 10x the candela of the original Pro and the Arkfeld Pro. The Arkfeld also doesn't have an instant turbo mode or button so it's not great for defensive purposes. It also doesn't use the same botton functions as other olights. Usually it's one tap for the last mode used, two for turbo, and three for strobe. But the Arkfeld goes last mode, strobe, then turbo. Which is weird and results in accidental strobe activation more often than turbo. An IMO strobe is dumb. So basically it's not a defensive light... it's a Utility light. An if you don't need the laser or IR I'd take a Baton 2 or 3 over it any day. That light is super tiny. An the double tap turbo isn't as hard to activate as a backup defensive light. They also have a super tiny warrior model now that's basically a Baton 3 with a bush button end cap. But in terms of candela not even the Warrior 3S is as bright as the Pro 2. 24k candela for the 3S vs 37k candela for the Pro 2. But the Arkfeld Pro and original Pro models are more like 3.5k candela.

@@TheTAEclub the dft is definitely more bang for the buck. High performance at a much lower price. And none of the high end customs I referred to offer better “value” because they’re not value priced items. But the higher price can be justified by those of us that like to carry them. Form factor/UI/materials/longevity/uniqueness all factor in with custom lights along with performance, but many don’t run high performance like many of the lower priced “tactical” production lights.

To top it off, I can stick it in my pocket, barely notice it and use it in a super low mode and read a menu in a dimly lit restaurant. I can't understand the need other than playing tactical or if you job is patrol, security and someone else is paying for your light. Oh yeah, its warrantied and I've sent back other lights by them and got an immediate replacement, free. If it needs a new battery I swap it out. I don't think personally there is a better, tiny pocket style light than one of them. I can clip it my hat, wear it as a head lamp and even hold it with my mouth in a pinch, oh yeah, it has a magnetic bottom to stick on ferrous surfaces, which I use all the time. No need to hold it as your looking under your hood or working on a tractor or a dimly lit shed.
