How long does the battery last

I’ve had mine for a year and 4 months now and my battery is dying a lot faster when riding and my shi is currently not charging and my battery is 74 on the charger

With that price tag I think I'd just get a Grom. As I'd use either as a hooligan fun bike around the neighborhood making my neighbors hate me even more.

Yeah but the Grom is not as stealth as the Sur Ron X, you can literally ride the Sur Ron X anywhere and without a license plate and insurance that would be required for any other motorcycle.

@@Frank_Torre Buy the surron. Upgrade the rear sprocket, get better brake pads and you're pretty set for a little bit. Look at Tallon Pemberton. He rips a surron like its a downhill mtb/mx bike. Huge jumps with it, and he did most of that when it was stock.

@@CartoonWeasel I've had a license for over 14 years. Take the MSF course and go to the DMV. It's so simple. What I'm saying is you'd come off cheaper getting the Grom and your license and gear with insurance than buying the Sur Ron X. Especially if you upgrade it to be a better ride.

Thanks for your review of the bike. My husband and I have been free ride mountain bikers for years and were looking to purchase two of these bikes for hitting up the trails and exploring. We were also thinking about the suspension components on the bike and figure we could probably swap over most of the suspension from our downhill bikes to these bikes for the upgrades they'd need. If the main reason why you wouldn't purchase the bike again (other than some of the components) is because you're not around trails very much anymore then you've solidified our decision to buy!! We have trails everywhere, so they'd be a hoot to own!! Would rather have one of these than an e-bike (mountain bike). The mountain bike e-bikes super expensive where we are and we already have "acoustic" (as they call them...) bikes anyway. Thanks again! :)

Thanks for the review and the side by side view next to the yz450. I was worried that this bike would be too small and it definitely looks about the same size as my mtn bikes. Because of this vid, I'll buy one. From what you said about it being torquey and good on trails, i think it'd be perfect for the terrain i'll be riding. I dont like riding on the streets and I also dont think I ever went more than 30mph on my crf250 anyway lol

Honestly, I’ve been more used to motocross bikes my entire life and thought it would be a bit out of my ball park to what I’m used too but, the trails close to my house you can’t really open a motocross bike up properly or even have that much fun as how heavy it is whereas I feel on the sur ron I can throw around the trials a lot better and it’s a lot more enjoyable, plus it’s very rare I have any problems with riding around on with dog walkers etc as they’re nowhere near as loud as a motocross bike everybody is happy at the end of the day

Klr 650, just keep in mind when soloing that you'll have a workout if you drop it, it's best to ride with a friend if you go out far, I've had the klr and I will have to say it is a tank, unfortunately mine was totaled but I walked away from hitting a deer at 55mph, we picked it up and it rode three and a half hours home rashed up, so it's a tough bike even though the frame was kinked slightly which is enough to total a motorcycle, I now ride a crf300l which I don't mind, my riding style has changed alot, I've had several bikes and it's weird I ended up getting back on what is considered a beginner's bike, idk I find them fun especially off road.

I have a rebel 300 that I sold a 2014 1832cc valkyrie to get, I'm in the process of turning it into a fat tire adventure bike, so far the rear is lifted and I'm waiting on the machine shop to send me my fork tube extenders, I went up 2" on the rear and front, I'm getting rear racks, a skid plate, and some knobby tires which I was actually able to find for it.

Hey thanks for viewing! Skip the gixxer as your first bike. A 450 dirt bike could be too much, these things are wicked violent for a new rider. Get a KLR650 or even a DRZ400. Whatever you do make sure t take the MSF class and wear all of the gear! Best of luck to you!

I know you posted this 3 months ago but I bought a klx300 duel sport coming from a larger bike. I love my klx and would recommend that. I modded mine out and it feels way nicer than stock but still easy to control, But if you’re stuck between the 2 bikes you mentioned get the KLR.

Paid $6,000 for my electric dirt bike build. $3,000 shipped from pa to fl for the CRF450r roller. $3,000 for the internals. Motor, controller, throttle $1,000. 72v 34ah Molicel Battery $2,000. Torque Monster. 70mph. And only the beginning. Get way more building it yourself for sure. Great video man. Definitely want to ride one one day.💯🔥🔥🍻

Looks a little small. How tall are you?

Since it doesn't have pedals you need to be careful some ebikes are limited to 20mph for state laws

People forget the sur ron is made for 13-18 year olds your comparing it with motorcycles its more of a gateway bike to give younger riders a taste of how a motorcycle is yeah its expensive but its also very customizable i respect ya man but your comparing it with motorcycles and an E bike

Im gettin a surron x to have the fun i would have on a pit bike anywhere i want. And wheelies. Honestly the only "upgrade" im gonna make is a bigger rear sprocket.

had mine 2 months, still fully stock, based in the UK, love it. i dont have the knowledge / tools / time to maintain a real bike, or a licence, or anything, in the long run, the surron has worked out the cheapest way for me too have fun on a bike, and when you look into actual electric bicycles, a surron is very competitively priced, you can pay 10k plus for a standard peddle assisted mountain bike. i do agree with the points youve made, but unless you used to big bikes like 450's and mt07's id say a surron will do you fine lol. im thinking in 6/12 months to sell it too upgrade too the ultra bee for the extra power and its a full sized bike with all upgrades on the light bee coming standard on the ultra.

Hi greetings from Kazakhstan ) I'm currently in dilemma of buying light bee X or Ultra. do you think its better to buy Ultra - from your comment I can guess that you do ) I leaning towards Ultra because no need to a lot of aftermarket upgrades as for Light bee X (from my research). My only concern is that I want to ride it everywhere in city (Urban freeride) without license and all that stuff and don't have problems with police. In our country if it's electric and max speed less than 50 km/h - it's good to go without license. but Ultra definitely goes more than 50 km/h - but company which sells Surrons says they put lower max speed in the tech specs passport of bike - so don't know if it will be enough to not have problems with police. And its looking bigger than Light Bee X for sure ) looks like true cross bike - so for this "Look" police may be more suspicious of this fake speed limit ) So what you think on this man? ) Appreciate you reply in advance )

Truly great job man, learned a lot from this one video. I mean really, pure genius to put a generic ebike over a capable and established machine just because the former pays you royalty. In the content creator pecking order you occupy the "leech" tier.

The Sur ron has its place. For me it's a good commuter to work (both my jobs are within three miles). For you Cruz, it's probably the bug out van life. Be healthy ☮️

I saw a guy local to me selling a Built Sur Ron and I inquired about it… $9500. I laughed out loud when I saw his reply. I bought a street legal plated WR450F that’s fuel injected for $5,000. The surron is cool but it’s not ANYWHERE CLOSE to the price cool.

Exactly. They are good bikes after all the upgrades but the value is just not there for me. I have had much better performing ebikes at 1/2 to 3rd the cost of a maxed out SurRon. If they ever get the costs down I might pick one up but I don't see that happening sooner than another manufacturer eating their lunch.

If you take your surron on mountain bike trails you oughtta be out there with a shovel about as much you ride

They are a cool stealth bike but the price makes no sense. I bought my used 08 DRZ400S for $3800 with goodies. Then you have to still fix all the cheap components, nope. 125cc trail bike would be more fun and cheaper.

Your yz 450 is nicer to ride on the road but lousy off road. I know because I ride off road, sandpits and all. IF you really want fun get a 2 stroke Yamaha 250, it's cheap and fun. You can buy the Varg, electric bike which has a lot of power for off road and the professional riders like it, but the battery won't last long and you'll get stuck in the woods.

Are you kidding? The YZ450X is amazing off-road, that is what it is made for, a motocross/woods bike hybrid. You can change the power by the push of a button and even custom tune the power delivery via smart phone app. So it's like you have a 250 and 450 all in one and it only weighs 255 lbs in stock form but feels lighter weight because of the center tank and centralized weight lower on the bike. I love riding it off-road more than my former WR250r which feels like a tank compared to my YZ450FX. I will agree with you that a 250cc two stroke is the best for woods riding. I think the Stark Varg excels as a a motocross bike on a track, can swap batteries and do a ton of laps.

No I'm not kidding.Certainly the hybrid 450 is better than the lousy adventure bikes which never belong off road. But, if you really want fun off road- go Yamaha 250 yz 2 stroke. You can't argue the tires you have on your 450 hybrid are no good for real off road riding.

The new Surron Ultrabee is what I'm really considering. It's better than an upgraded Surron.

Nah a 72 volt Surron has a lot more power then the ultra bee it’s probably got the same power as the the storm bee

these days i'd probably be looking at a talaria sting over a surron. Apparently talaria's are made by the former surron designer and for all intents and purposes the upgraded surron

$4500 is a bargain…cuz it’s cheap parts, the battery is worth $2,000 alone. New gas dirt bike $9,000. Dirt bike will need to have upgraded parts cuz who rides stock??? So after upgrades my 450R will be at $15,000. Sur Ron after upgraded is same price as petrol.

Eh I won't get rid of them, they are useful. I'd like to get a collection of bug out vehicles going. I want to do a Ford Transit AWD bug out van build.

I would way rather have a super custom badass Surron than a plane stock mt07

You can get some pretty hefty fines for taking that bike on mountain bike trails. You shouldn't encourage your audience to do so.

Hey bud please don't encourage or condone illegally riding on mountain biking/pedestrian trails. You are really asking for potentially violent conflict with other trail users.

You’re too cheap man. I did all the upgrades. Really, it may be more fun stock. Making it too fast makes it too serious. Maybe just adding a KO controller would be enough of a power upgrade. My Talaria sting has been the most fun mainly bc it’s silent and inconspicuous. I can rip around anywhere

I said it b4 and will say it again...the price of these electric motorcycle and bikes is just too expensive!! They have been out 10 years now and prices have not reduced all that much. Even ZERO MOTORCYCLES is starting to get a lot of negativity feedback on parts, warranty, and loyalty to the customers. ENERGICA are still good regarding customer service but who will spend $15000 to $25000 on them?? That's a supermoto and CBR 600rr put together. So for me...two birds are better than 1
