Suprascapular Nerve Glide/Floss

This video demonstrates how to perform an active suprascapular nerve glide. If arm motion becomes painful, focus more on head movement. If head movement becomes painful, focus more on arm movement.

I was taught at a physical therapy continuing ed course , no tension on the nerve. So head follows the arm.

Definitely would not want to tension a very sensitized nerve. Flossing with slack on one end and tension on the other would be better. For a less sensitive and just "sticky" at times a tensioner can be helpful. For sure need to listen to the body!

Wasn’t that backwards? As in compression not glide? Won’t that further entrap the nerve?

Hello! I love his floss - do you have one floss to decompress axillary nerve in quadrangle space? And one to settle firing around the anterior deltoid/tricep longhead/ teres minor when it is the anterior shoulder muscles that need to be active?

Have you tried a radial nerve glide?

Try tipping head toward the arm as opposed to away and see if that changes things. Tensioning the nerve when it is too irritable can zing you. Think about it as slacking one side, tensioning the other versus tensioning both sides.
