@2.43, probability of point belonging to positive class will be close to 0.5 if the point is very close to the line. Probability will be zero when point is very far from line on the negative side. Plz correct me if i am wrong.

It was definitely very good explanation. Thank you sir. I have one doubt when we say d (i.e. support vector) should be maximize (the parallel line from the margin) in that case for training dataset residual will be high (i.e. error) but definitely for testing dataset variance will be low as it handle outlier as well. Whether it is fine to increase residual in training dataset to make it generic model.

As we need to maximise the margin i.e. the distance between pi+ and pi-, then the best hyperplane can be any plane parallel to pi and within pi+ and pi-. It seems to me that we haven't found the unique solution, but a family of solution. How can we find the unique solution?

We also have to ensure that the distance between support vectors and the optimal separating hyperplane is also maximum .

@@aathifts280 see this is more understandable and this I'll never ever dispute. You could have just said you don't understand hindi which is obviously fine. I'm South Indian too and i learnt Hindi talking to my north Indian friends. But calling someone annoying just because you don't know Hindi is wrong especially when they work so hard to give free knowledge. Next time don't say annoying rather say politely that you don't understand hindi. No hard feelings. Peace and love. Good luck with your ml journey
