My favorite Black Manta moment is in Brightest Day when it shows that after the death of Aquaman he'd retired from supervillainy to run a fish market. But after he finds out Aquaman is back from the dead, he murders everyone in his shop, burns it down, and walks into the ocean to start being a villain again. Dude fucking hates Aquaman.

The Paul Yeah, for 2 reasons 1: The 5 year gap. It would have been better if maybe during season 2 they showed what happened in the 5 year gap. 2: To many characters, if they followed the same formula as season 1 where each character was slowly introduced, then it wouldn't have been so bad

Exactly, most people think that if they watch the show, then they don't have to read the comics. I bet that if Cartoon Network gave the show a reboot. Then it probably would be awesome, just get as many different voice actors so that so many of the same people won't voice to many characters.

LOL! Not only that, but is currently going through more s h i t in his Rebirth series. He recently got arrested because he was falsely accused for leading a group of rogue Atlanteans to blow up a ship. Not only that, but he is trying to be a diplomat and unite the surface world and underwater world with peace, and he just is not getting much luck for it. Oh, and Black Manta blew up the Atlantean Embassy and killed multiple people, and he still gets s h i t from the US government for it. Poor, poor guy.

Vowing revenge; David graduates college, building his armored suit (a laTony Stark) with a sole purpose to eliminate the Atlantean Race By Any Means Necessary. Unshaved Stuff I know tons of DC fans who watched Young Justice constantly. plus, it had critical acclaim. and there hasn't been any reason why young justice was cancelled. nothing about toy lines or anything. it seems cartoon network wanted to bring in a cheaper to make show and young justice had to take the fall for it to happen. green lantern was so-so though.

Aqualad being Black Manta's son is canon though. The show's Kaldur'ahm is based on Kaldur'ahm from the comics in the Brightest day story arc, aka Aqualad 2 who shares an almost exact story to the YJ version except he never goes undercover with Black Manta and he was never affiliated with the JL or any of its teams.

It wasnt due to copy right issues it was because a live action show of aquaman was in development at the time and WB didnt want two shows running the same characters as they thought this would make for confusion, as it so happened the show didnt come to pass. The same problem occurred with batman related characters because at the time the batman and chris nolans films were also on at the time so characters like scarecrow, two-face etc never made it on JLU animated series

His Injustice trailer was great

Aquaman can be pretty badass and needs a proper movie adaptation.

His Biggest appearance was on "Young Justice", where his son became Aqualad and lead the aforementioned team against Supervillains like his father.

Why didn't you mention or show clips of Black Manta's recurring and awesome appearances on Young Justice? You kept going back to the same terrible old cartoon

Probably one of my favorite comic book villains. He might be my favorite in the DC universe. I love the irony of an underwater villain being a man of color, because its so out of character for most generalizations. And there's the awesome helmet and the weapons!

andvas1994 Superhero costumes were originally based on wrestler costumes. Theyre not panties, more like briefs. At least thats what they were intended to be. And please, lets not forget Wolverine, Namor, Taskmaster, Cyclops, Daredevil (his are the same color as his costume so its harder to tell) all used to do the same with their costumes

It's like Deadpool. Alot of names work with "pool" (Ladypool, Kidpool, and even Headpool i think) but none of them make sense.

andvas1994 i think it was to just break up the colours, although I agree about the young boys in nothing but breifs from the waste down, I love comics but that's just straight up creepy

you really should have included the young justice story line into this, he got a lot of character development there

It seems that this character never had a good origin so new authors keep redoing it. I'm just glad they decided that the civil rights angle was pretty dumb and ditched it.

i thought the civil rights angle was interesting , hes trying to find a place for black people where he consider they will be free from racism and he picked atlantis, they could do alot with that angle
