You are so damn right. In fact, I was so little during the Superstar Limo-era. I didn't know about that ride, and I actually never been to California.

It’s easy to spot the Drew Carrey and Jackie Chan ones

puppets are really funky, some are too "realistic" looks like a talking corpse.Then there's the weird caricature ones that look like they came off celebrity death match.

They should have called this ride "Cool World Tours" Because most of the room scenes look creepy as a Ralph Bakshi cartoon.

Ironically, that passenger looks much more like drew carey than the actual animatronic

After the negative reviews, Disney was going to reconstruct it into a Muppet themed ride, and while it would be under reconstruction, the ride would be operating and would feature the muppets rebuilding the ride in goofy ways while commentating on how bad the old version was

@@shouldwemakethis Yes, but the ride was in development long before that. Even opening a ride like that a few years after her death would've been insensitive.

Not this, originally. The ride was supposed to simulate a high-speed paparazzi chase, but they nixed that idea after the death of Princess Diana.

They should change it back to superstar limo on Halloween😈😈

I think this ride could have succeeded if they made it in a way where it could have been updated every so often to be made relevant to current movies and such.

I think this ride would have been amazing if they had been able to do the original plan, but it’s not Disney’s fault that princess Diana unfortunately passed away. I respect Disney for changing the whole ride for her. So for everyone throwing shade on this ride, just remember Disney is being respectful of Princess Diana.

Three strikes on this ride: 1. The "celebrities" here were C-listers and has-beens, even in the early 2000s. 2. The stereotypical sleazy agent was annoying padding to take your attention away from the fact this ride is barely 3 minutes long. and most of all 3. The primitive animatronics of this ride are off-putting. We have seen from countless Disneyworld/land rides from 50 years ago that Disney can do a hell of a lot better.

well it was late 90s early 2000s disney so of course they already had deals with every has-been and c-lister under the sun for their crappy live action movies.

Eisner era rides certainly had their charm.

since you start at LAX, if you were to do this whole ride and go to all the stops, it would take 2 hours to complete what is usually a 30 minute drive direct from LAX to the chinese theater.

This ride’s original idea would’ve made the ride so much better if Princess Diana wasn’t assassinated

“Kill me... please kill me” that about explains it all

Oh dear merciful lord.... that... that _thing_ on the screen looks like the product of muppet inbreeding and then the offspring of that muppet inbreeding went off and started breeding with a love doll or something, and the offspring created this... thing... that was slowly melted in a fire but then resurrected by satan's anus. that is *EXACTLY* what that thing looks like... and this is coming from the same places that brought us breathtaking marvels and technical advances in the art of animatronics? (and yes, I'm counting Disneyland too. ik they are different parks, but same company and it is on the same land/property and owned by the same people) I can't believe this. I was too young to ever see this since I never saw CA in it's newborn stage, and I believe CA came out in 2001, the year I was born. No wonder it backfired! This is just painful for Disney standards.....

even though it was pretty bad, I still wish I went on it; I love the idea

so as the story goes, it was origjnally going to be a fast ride emulating a lino being chased by paparazzi. But then Princess Diana died and they changed it to a slow ride. Couldn't they have kept it as a fast ride representing the metaphorical rise of a star in Hollywood?

I would never think to record these rides while I'm on them, but as bad as this ride was I'm glad that this guy did.

Super Star Limo was removed and was replaced by Monsters Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue

I’d say puppet, animatronics are great but I don’t think one could move it’s mouth that fast. Maybe they did what little shop did where they record it in slow motion and speed it up in post

The girl in the video would definitely be a very low maintenance girlfriend. Since she likes Superstar Limo, it obviously doesn't take much to make her happy.

This oughta be Exhibit A in the case against inflated CEO compensation: _because_ Disney paid Eisner 10,000x what anyone is really worth, they _had_ to pretend his _ideas_ were 10,000x what they were worth… when they _weren’t!_ Typical “gambler’s dilemma,” better known as “throwing good money after bad!” They couldn’t see their cookie-cutter CEO was less fit to design theme parks than a soda-water CEO was fit to make computers.

I had to look it up because I'm not from California nor have I been to Disneyland (I've only been to Disney World) but apparently it ran for only a year because it got a really poor response and many of the celebrities they used were way passed their prime so they replaced it with a Monster's INC ride. I hope that helps.

I've been on Monsters, Inc. and its really underrated! Glad I wasn't born in the 90's but 2011!

Note to potential ride developers: if your concept is based on caricatures of “famous” celebrities, make sure you hire an artist who is actually talented at caricature. The designer who did those figures was a fantastic artist, but she was NOT a caricaturist. Poor concept, poor casting, poor execution, just… poor all around.
