I absolutely love Crowley in this episode! I love that he helped Sam fight his possession and didn’t do anything nasty, even assured Sam that he didn’t kill Kevin. I love it when he works with Cas and the brothers! Also Sam casting Gadreel out, another badass Sam moment! Props to Jared for his phenomenal acting!

I loved this plot line with Sam and Gadreel and honestly while I don’t agree with what Dean did AT ALL but I think it was a super amazing part of the show where you can understand both sides enough to argue either and I love debating about stuff like this. HOWEVER, one thing I’m super disappointed about was how the show handled Sam’s side of this part of the story. I wish they’d dove more into Sam’s past with possession and how it affected his motives in this situation. And then I feel like the writers don’t allow him to lash out at Dean for what he did when he had a right to be angry. I feel like the writers always frame these situations so that it looks like Dean is always in the right, or they show Deans side (and WHY he did what he did) more than Sams side just because they know most of their audience are Dean fans and I think that’s really unfair. I think my least favorite part of the show is the bias that the writers have towards Dean and it makes me wanna bash my head against a wall tbh because since they frame everything to make it seem like Deans always in the right (even when he’s not) so most people think Sam’s in the wrong for a lot of what he does when he’s not. It’s just two different ways of looking at a situation. There doesn’t always have to be a right and wrong.

The characters are very complex. The fans will argue that Dean isnt selfish because it sounds bad to say. One can be a good person and be selfish.

No idea why there's even an argument on whether Dean is selfish or not, like, he obviously is. I think the thing is that he's more than that. He made the choice for Sam out of fear of being alone and failing as a big brother (like when he sold his soul) but he also made the choice for love. Their relationship is very f'ed up lol amazing reaction as alwayssss

I absolutely love Cas and Crowley, and I adore episodes with the both of them in it ❤ Cas was really sweet to Dean this episode, "you were stupid for all the right reasons". I love how you can tell he really wants to hear that for himself. He KNOWS better than most what it is to make mistakes with terrible consequences, while trying to do good.

And it's clear you're a typical Dean hater/Sam fan, but you're really going to act like Sam fans don't treat Sam like his sh*t don't stink? Please. @@JustUs Hi, Davion! I understand, because Dean made the wrong decision. Sam was clearly depressed, because he thought Dean chose Benny over him. Dean told Sam that his thought process wasn't true, so he might have thought Sam wanted to die due to his dark thoughts causing his depression. What Dean should have done was wait for Cass to advise him on which angel he should pray to for help instead of openly praying to any angel, but he wasn't thinking his plan through due to desperation to save Sam.

Next episode begins my favorite part on this whole show🔥🔥

I'm not gonna argue whether Dean is selfish, because he absolutely is in regards to the possession. But there's an important distinction to make regarding the trials. The choice Dean took away from Sam by tricking him into letting Gadreel in wasn't completing the trials, it was whether or not he should let Gadreel possess him to save his life. Sam had already decided not to complete the trial after Dean told him it would kill him, so not completing the trial was a decision they both made together, and it was a selfish decision made by both of them. After it was discovered that only Amgeic healing via possession could save Sam that Sam's will was taken out of it. Because Dean knew Sam would say no to petting someone possess him, but Dean tricked him into it. THAT was the selfish decision Dean made. Also, this is coming from soneone who sides with Dean far more often than Sam, so anyone who wants to call me "Dean Hater" or anything like that is wrong by default.

Look I agree that this whole possession thing was stupid and Dean was wrong from it. But I put that more on stupidity and not Selfishness. But my main issue is it leads to the brothers fighting and yes Sam is justified in his anger but the problem I have is that the fight just drags and sucks the fun out of the show once more I didn't like how the fight was resolved (Trying to avoid spoilers). I would've liked for the fight to have a better resolution by talking it out but it doesn't happen. Honestly I think this season has some terrible writing

Ok here's the strange thing in episode 14 they writers seem to give Dean an out that it was the right call to save Sam that way and even try to justify not closing the gates. But they never bring up these facts outside that episode and I don't know why? I mean what was the point of it in the first place?

@@patrickmcguire7896 Honestly, I think it was equal parts stupid and selfish. Not entirely one or the other. It was stupid of Dean to trick Sam, but taking Sam's choice out of the matter was selfish IMO because he disregarded what Sam would want in favor of what he wanted. In other words: selfish. I also agree that this season's writing isn't great, at least at this specific point, and I wasn't all that fond of the whole tricked possession thing in the first place. Personally, I would've had Sam consciously agree to it, only for Dean to find out later about Gadreel and have at least a few episodes where Dean was trying to find a way to force him out without alerting him, and then we get the twist that Sam never had control from the instant he said yes.

dean isn't selfish, people mistake doing the bad stuff with being selfish, you can make mistakes thinking it was for the right reasons. Its part of being human.

He is selfish. I don't know why people like to pretend that some human emotions aren't human. Yes, when you know his story you can understand his decisions, but logically speaking, his selfish. That doesn't make him a bad person, that makes him a realistic human. It's completely normal that he cares about his brother the most and is willing to cross some boundaries that he wouldn't for other people. I don't know why some people don't allow characters in TV shows to have "flaws". At the end of the day he is still a person trying to do what is best for the world, that fact that he sometimes does things that are just good for him/his brother is actually really nice to see.

I believe both brothers are selfish to a point especially with it’s about letting the other go but in this case it wasn’t about the trails that was a decision they made together after dean told Sam it would kill him him this was about gadreel possessing his body when he knew Sam was ok with dying

I swear this fandom gets so weird when it comes to Dean. Like, why are some of y'all getting so bothered that others don't see Dean as selfish as y'all do? Are we not allowed to have different opinions of the same character? I'm confused. Anyway, I'm a Sam and Dean fan and one of the first ones to say that Dean was absolutely wrong, and he knew he was wrong, for allowing Gadreel to possess Sam. As I stated before, Dean should've told Sam what the plan was and let him make that decision for himself. While I understand some see the decision as selfish because he's taking Sam's free will away, I don't think it was selfish because it didn't come from a place of selfishness. Now as far as Sam not completing the trials and Sam wanting to die, he had two instances where he had a choice to make and chose the opposite. Let's be honest here, Sam could've completed the last trial and he could've gone with Death, yet he chose Dean. But why if he was so ready to die? And yes, Dean was aware that Sam was accepting dying, but it clears he didn't want Sam to give up. Now, this is not in any way justifying what Dean did or to make what Dean did any less f***ed up and reckless but trying to use certain things to run off narratives isn't it. Sidenote: Dean was so real for owning up to his sh*t in that ending scene with Sam. He could've easily made any and every excuse, but he didn't. And I know I'm in the minority, as I usually am, but I'm so glad they finally split Sam and Dean up. It's something that should've happened a season ago, but it's unfortunate it had to happen through the usual, tired, forced drama.

I am a Dean fan and I agree what Dean did was stupid (not selfish) but my actual issue is how the writers got him out of it was just lazy and they twist it to where Dean was right and Sam would've done it to. Trying to avoid spoilers but I wasn't a fan of how this fight was resolved, it was to hasty and their wasn't even the slightest hint that Sam was even thinking of forgiving Dean till that certain moment. Then after this season the fight and what lead to it are never brought up again. It felt to easy for Dean, yes he was clearly remorseful for what happened but again how they handled the fight was poor. It's like the writers realized they put Dean in to big a whole and rather than focus on getting him out they just come up with an easy solution to fix things.

My mom even wanted a DNR do you know what that means right? she has the rights to die she has chosen that I can't take those rights away.

@@matthewbee128 No I rewatched the episode Gadreel said Sam was dying and he needed Sam to yes to him Dean didn't know he was ok with dying just that he was dying, for all he knew Sam could've come back as a ghost and would've had to make sure he was put to rest like with Bobby

Can we move on with the whole selfish thing, pretty much everyone in this show is selfish to some degree especially when it comes time to serve the plot. I hope when sam does stupid shit y'all flip your lid to mudsling at the character for an entire season and never let the fuck up.
