Love it! "Improv-track" have moto will try it. I was surprised the suspension took it so well on the SM, that's why I bought the 400E as it's got more suspension travel plus better carby cams & all it needs is wheels & it's both bikes. But I do love the SM's too, great little fun bikes.

they didn't hurt too much with landing rear first and dumping clutch and throttling out to keep the front end from slamming too hard. I hit it well over 15 times haha

Big Question! I want a drz400s or sm, I want to be riding 60 percent off road and 40 percent on road or even 50/50. Should I get the 400sm with 17inch wheels and trail tires? or should I go for the 400sm and get 18/21inch wheels and put them on my 400sm? Or should I just get a 400s and use the stock tires? Or what do you think I should do? Can I get the SM.. sell the 17" wheels or trade for 21"/18" wheels? due to the fact that the SM fork is nicer?

I think the SM has the best suspension components of the lot. I'd get the SM and then get a 21/18 set to swap as desired. Best of both worlds. The 17's are best on the street by far but can't compete with the 21/18 setup for offroad. This was for the poster...just for anyone looking now...

I would not recommend landing front heavy on anything, unless you have a good steep landing.

Joe Compton when I first got my bike I practiced uphill in 2nd gear. I Learned to clutch it up cause it's the most effective way of getting the front end up quicker. preloading the front end and shifting your weight backwards while you're throttling the wheelie up is also a technique to practice 👍
