If the two of them actually fought, the pre-New 52 version would win with ease. He might be a bit older and weaker than New 52 Superman, but he is much more experienced and skilled in combat. He made short work of Ultraman, Superwoman & Owlman at the same time. He also beat a possessed Batman when he didn't have his powers.

Chad Benjamin I would argue his age isn't a factor in any negative aspects like reduced strength. If anything if we go by some previous comics he will become stronger as time goes on. New 52 may be strong, but his speed and fighting abilities are nowhere near pre 52 and let's not forget the obvious experience gap or difference in intelligence. New 52 is also quite a glass canon in his durability is nowhere near pre 52. So in pretty much any aspect the pre 52 stomps new 52.

Basically Pre-52 came to the New 52 Universe because of Convergence & has been in the New 52 universe since it first started, just turned out he was in hiding. After New 52 superman died he took his place somewhat & decided to be the "New 52" superman. After the events of Superman Reborn, it turns out New 52 superman didnt really die & that his soul was just floating around somewhat in this magic realm kinda. Pre-52 Supes (now disgused as new 52 supes) basically just fused together with the new 52 supes and now there is just one superman.

I'm prob just hearing things but the back ground music has a game of thrones type tempo to it at the start of the vid.... love the channel rob 👍👍

Superman Action Comics "The New World" makes it much clearer. The Trinity issue was a tease for what's coming but Action Comics pretty much sets it straight as far as what exactly the events of Reborn did to the current universe. Reborn Supes reviews his own history and it very much seems to suggest that 52 and Pre 52 are one and the same now. Events of both their histories seem blended or replace one another entirely.

hey rob why do you think dr. manhattan is even doing this to the dc universe? and also i have two interepertations of the scene where it shows all the supermans/batmans/wonderwomans 1. it shows that dr manhattan and oz are toying with the universe 2. Cullen Bunn is putting a mirror to all the readers and writers of these comic books and showing them that their "multiverse" is a sick game where they put these characters through horrifying situations as if they were toy BUT for them its real. we enjoy reading about characters like superman, wonderwoman, batman and more in terrible situations as if they were rats in a maze

Hey, Rob. My brother and I had an argument earlier about Marvel's lore. He didn't understand how people like Ghost Rider (extentions of Christianity) mix with characters affiliated with different religions in the Marvel lore. Rob you have a platform that lets you be heard by some of the talent in marvel and D.C. So in some twisted hope that you read the comments and mention this in one of the videos...... I hope that one day a writer will come along much more talented than myself who will write a story where the justice league was formed before super man ever arrived to earth and Batman and Wonder Woman were the head of the Justice league and were aware of supermans pod as it landed and they took him in instead of the kents. Leading to superman being raised by the league taught and trained by them to be the GOAT. Spending his adolescence with Batman as a Robin. His teen years learning to truly fight off island from The help of the amazons. The antagonist can be Luther obviously but in this reality he's a fellow hero who worked hard to train his body and mind to be able to be a part of the league only to resent superman for being accepted with little to no effort.

Charming Senpai Luthor could be Batman's rival at first, because he was like Batman - rich guy with alot of training and technological prowess - and then, after the arrival of superman, he would be even more spiteful of sups and batsy and the JLA for not wanting him. He then strikes a deal with Darkseid, to take over earth and make him head of the League.

I haven't been keeping up with DC for a long time now, but if Dc Manhattan is in the picture, than Mr Oz is almost certainly none other than Ozymandias. That's just my theory in any way. I am looking to get back into reading again :)

My ideal scenario would be that the ENTIRE New52 is a sort of altered reality where everything that's happened did sort of happen but in a pocket style universe. Sort of like a "Matrix" style universe and Superman is the 1st to break through the veil

Joe Rodriguez well as it stanss now, pre52 and new52 are one and the same, when flashpoint was finished, manhattan interfered and took 10 years from pre52 and tinkered with the universe ro take away hope.. so it is the same universe, with the same people, but altered.. this helps clarify how, for example, robin had 4 iterations in 5 years and so on

Mr. R_creator well as you can guess I'm not a New52 fan and so I'd prefer a soft reboot of the sort that the New52 is some sort of alternate universe but I guess this will have to do. At least it does remove the idea that Flashpoint was the catalyst for all this, I always felt that Flashpoint as a reason for a universe wide reboot was silly. Also is that the running theory or 100% confirmed, that Manhattan took away hope? Man that's silly if that's the case. I guess he can alter and control the emotional spectrum (which in itself is a little silly). Thanks for responding though.

Flex that would be AWESOME, the whole New52 is a sort of Elseworlds story mixed into the mainstream continuity by Manhattan. It's all an opinion of course but all in all I hope it works out. I will say this, I'm NOT looking forward to Doomsday, Geoff Johns writing a political piece and mixing "hope" is not something that's got me climbing up the walls. Hippie new age mumbo jumbo. Just write good stories.

I think it would be cool if they closed off the entire New 52 universe and called it an Elseworlds experiment. But I'm also excited to see how they put New 52 back into the classic continuity so that everything is cannon again.

Aesthetically it was an appealing design what is more modern and sleek and it was fun to illustrate as well so no you're not the only one who like that costume and there is a backstory to it there was the fact that it was a ceremonial armor it was based on Superman's Kryptonian Heritage in the new 52 lore

Metropolis was only different because it was more like New York during the day and less like a City of Tomorrow. And Dr. Manhattan did come from a more realistic world.

Seeing this video it got me thinking... joker being 3 different people could be a similar situation to superman where the joker was split into 3 versions of himself by dr. manhatan.

A battle that seems to be part of a dream (one could say it's in the mind) to find out which one is the Superior Superman :p

So now I see you must read all of these different comics to actually keep up with the central story. has this ever been done to such a massive degree?

I get the idea of both Supermen merging into one complete Superman. What I don't understand is what that does to the last 5-6 years of stories. Did they happen? Clearly things have changed but does that mean none of the New 52 stories happened? If so Hou does this gel with the rest of the storylines connected to both Supermen since 2011 for New 52 Superman and 2015 for Post-Crisis Superman?

This is just a mess. That is what DC did. They just went through all this Rebirth thing to undo everything about N52 Superman and N52 Wonder woman because they were a couple and DC didn't like that as they just care for the Batgod. SM and WW were the most changed characters in Rebirth, all the others remained the same. So at the end DC just wanted to bring back the lame status Quo, and pave the way to make WW another trophy of the Batgod. I went back to DC books because N52 brought new ideas and a fresh start, and because they were finally exploring the relationship between WW and SM in canon. I just wish DC/WB good luck with their Rebirth stunt, they're only books that are selling are just Batgod books or anything that have the Bat logo on it. Supes, WW and the other heroes books are just down, as they are again boring and the same old thing, Lois having to b saved etc, etc. No question why DC movies are failing big.

Rob, is it possible that Mr. Oz is Jon Osterman, Dr. Manhattan? emphasis on the Os in Osterman

Mr. Oz is definitely Lex Luthor, Rob, because as we have a good lex Luthor in the new 52 then just like sups and lois was split so could have lex, maybe sent to the watchmen universe and wanted to save the universe there (not losing his hair in that universe) and become ozymandias hence, he is the other version of lex.

Also there is one person who knows everything we know well. Mr. Mxyzptlk is just having too much fun not spooling it for us.

Culver Nile it is kinda screwy but at least it's making for good storytelling! I'd be much more worried if Geoff JOHNS wasn't the one shepherding this whole Rebirth idea and directing how it unfolds.

I don't like that this volume does away with the Lois & Clark story cause the Lois & Clark story was great, Lumberjack Dad Superman was great.

Question. The Pre-Crisis Superman that was bottled in convergence with a pregnant Lois Lane.... At what stage did Dr Manhattan split him in two? The rules of Convergence state that heroes got stolen from their reality at the last possible moment. So the way I read that, Superdad was saved just before Pandora/flashpoint/Dr M Created the new52 At the end of convergence and start of Lois and Clark it shows Supes and family getting dropped off on new earth. At no point was he ever split in half.
