It makes sense during a radio interview that translators aren't standing by so of course the members who are strongest in English are going to speak the most. Mark grew up in Canada so it would be easiest for him to pull the weight in an English interview. I think they're all brave for trying in their second/third language. :)

Shannon Riccio yes he is not just speaking in English but doing a really good job at the way he is answering those questions , he covered everything about super m and gave a clearer perspective about the group. So other than just talking about someone’s hair or face or body... these boys needed little pat on the back for handling everything well.

@@phactsssssss This is only showed what a solid group SuperM is. The members help each other in every given situation. Becausr and Mark and Ten are good in English, they conveyed what the others can't articulate. But I admire Baekhyun for trying so hard. His english has improved a lot and was able to clearly convey what he feels.

It is sometimes difficult for bilingual people to switch language in their head so it will sound like that but the more he spent time in US, switching the language from Korea to English and vise versa it will more easy for him to speak clearly and fluently again

I think 2 different things are getting muddled. Mark doesn't need praise for speaking English well. It's his native language. What he should be praised for is being such a good spokesman, which is an aspect of public speaking. Native speakers aren't necessarily good public speakers. It's a skill that has to be learned and practiced. Both Mark and Johnny are very, very good public speakers in English. In terms of language learning, it's Ten who deserves praise. English isn't a native language for him, but he communicates very effectively in it.

Growing up in a monolingual society like Thailand, his English exposure is still limited within his school for the most part. He does have fluency, not necessarily eloquence. Sorn of CLC who also comes from Thailand is a good example of non-native English speaker who has both a fair amount of fluency and eloquence.

It maybe his native language but it’s not the language he speaks everyday. My native languages is French, but since I moved to an English province when I was 10, I have been surrounded by only English speakers so that’s all I speak and I find myself not being as fluent as I was in French which is the same thing that happened to Mark.

Also my relative told me it's cool to speak english, lol. It's so impressive to see how many Thai natives speak conversational english. It may not be fluent, but to get by is wonderful.

Harmon McCraw This is true. A lot of people don’t realize that our language and expression is heavily dictated by our culture. So Mark really is showing a different side of himself when he speaks English, because he takes on all of the cultural expressions of the West.

Sawa Sama a leader isn‘t just there to talk in interviews (but Mark did a great job) ...he needs to motivate and take care of the group and I think baekhyun is perfect for the role (and btw sorry for my bad english🙃)

Iam really impressed by Mark's words. Iam not impressed by the fact that he is talking in english or anything but just the WAY he is talking and his selection of words and explanation he gives is very wonderful. I stanned superm for kaibaek but iam loving mark too.

I am so proud of my baby Mark. He spoke so well. This is for sure helping him to become more confident in public speaking. I love how they talk about their bond. It TRULY is so special. I am on the verge of tears because I adore these boys and them being together is such a dream come true.

I am a Shawol and I wanted to support SuperM Lee Taemin only at the beginning, now I am here for all. I never wanted to listen to anything aside from SHINee but now I have even downloaded the other member's music and I am truly amazed at how extraordinary and talented the other members are too. I 100% agree there is nothing like them out there for that reason. I feel SuperM is unique as they are bringing people together giving a message of unity and camaraderie wich is not seen in other fandoms. I love SuperM and I am here to stay not just supporting my ultimate bias Taemin but all members.

The most I surprised is almost whole members are speaking English really really well.... I could see their hardwork.... And I am feeling soooo sooo proud of'em....

this girl really did her research, I love that. The guys seemed to really enjoy the interview and we as fans enjoyed it as well.

Wow Brooke did a great job on this interview - the questions are not the same clichéd ones that a lot of other American interviewers/journalists tend to ask K-Pop groups, and it focuses more on their music and what SuperM can bring to the table of K-Pop, as opposed to just pitting them against existing groups, like some other tabloids have already done, and try to twist things into a negative light and sensationalise things. All the members' English skills are amazing, you can tell how hard they worked - so proud not only of my baby Taemin, but of the other members too! Love what they say about having so much respect for one another, and how all of them as a group enables a wide range of possibilities for various projects ☺️
