y’all. i’m gonna say this off of my personal account. listen, NOBODY is saying that baekhyun looks up to chris brown because of his situation or none of that. dont worry, i think we all know that you guys dont think that, at least those of us who have seen a lot of your videos. i think most people commented about it because they want to make sure that everyone knows that baekhyun does not agree with that side, not to direct it at you. its too often that our idols get dragged for things they dont mean, so people are extra defensive about it whenever something comes up i think

key As an American, I also didn’t know about Chris Brown either until the Ailee stuff happened In general, I don’t see why it’s hard for people to realize that someone may not know something about a famous person. Or that a person may not something from their own country. Americans barely even pay attention to the news so I don’t expect people or even people outside America to know about the controversy. Anyone could just be casually listening to a person’s music but don’t know the bad stuff behind the artist because they just pay attention to music not news surrounding the artist.

In Asian societies "pig" sometimes is used to describe cute stuff esp in China/ HK where Lucas is from. Many non-Asian fans attacked Lucas and sent d34th thr3at to him in his IG he always reads comments and messages of bubble and he looked terribly down in one of make a wish stages and he bubbled an apology said he did sth wrong and he will be a better person, it was also bcs he made a similar comment about Kun but fans jumped on him when they don't even know how close they're to each other, and they don't even know Asian culture. It broke my heart.. Lucas is genuine kind hearted man he's always the one to hype ppl when they're down and always so vocal about his affection and respect to the members literally. I hope ppl understand that there are cultural differences between countries and not everything they say/do has to appeal or adopt to western ideologies/way of thinking ( literally no offense ) Also the thing with their music taste/role models is that they don't really know what these pop stars do in their lives besides their music..etc and that goes for a lot of people like I didn't like Chris brown since the beginning idk why but I just recently heard about his controversies. Think about it everyone. When a celebrity or idol mentions a "role" model, they are thinking of people that they admire in the same genre or industry. It rarely, if ever, has to do with their personalities or lifestyle. Also, as many have mentioned, most Koreans aren't aware of American celebrity gossip/news, they just know the music. As for Lucas' comment...while it probably wasn't the nicest thing to say, it is Baekhyun's issue to deal with. Lucas clearly loves all his Hyungs, and would never seriously say or do anything to hurt their feelings. He is very young, and he clearly feels very comfortable with his member's. I just slipped out. Baekhyun is a pro, and he has had far worse things thrown at him in his career. He is NOT going to hold a grudge or get mad at Lucas.

@@antidave Maybe, but how is having fans attack Lucas because of a stupid comment isn't the answer either. Making a big deal out of it is likely to make Baekhyun more uncomfortable than the comment did. Also, they were all giving Baek a hard time about his weight. Baekhyun hasn't hidden the fact that he gains weight easily and has a hard time losing weight (curse of being a Taurus). Just like Mark hasn't hidden the fact that he has issues that cause him to use the bathroom a lot. And Baek was joking about it, did people fly off the handle about that? I am an EXO-L and I love Baekhyun SO MUCH, but I'm not mad at Lucas. I know he didn't mean it, and it was just a result of his mouth moving faster than his brain.

Some people are quick to judge and take matters into their own hands based something that they see on YT. Sure, Baek has always been worried about his weight but if he really had an issue with Lucas's comment he would've talked to the kid about it in private. Likewise with Ten getting slammed by some Shawols during the Tiger Inside vlive for suggesting that the fandom be called MVP without realizing that it is already the fandom name of SHINee's leader. Just because Taemin didn't mention anything about it during the live doesn't mean that he won't after the live is over 🤷‍♀️
