What most don't know is that until the SEP started to appear the Leopard 2a4 was the only NATO MBT with better FCS than the T-80b amd T-64b, T-80U and subsequently T-80UD with their imoroved sights would probably be on par with the Leopard 2a4. So yeah, the title is hardly a bait, is just stating a fact for the military technology of the era.

Elaborate how so? Considering that only the latest T-80 variants had thermals in 1989, saying it had better FCS is a bold statement. Abrams also had a muzzle reference sensor which only the most modern Russians vehicles have today. The Soviets did have a primitive hunter killer style system which the Abrams lacked at the time. However hunter killer capability existed in some form since WW2, and US M60s retained a similar system.

Fairly sure Vulc has said he puts it on the highest setting so it's easier to see units when watching the vids

If you press tab you can it will select the rightmost unit, press tab again and it will select the next one, etc. etc.

Are you using a mod? The explosions are a bit more dramatic in your gameplay.

I have 3D unit scaling turned on.

can anyone help me with mid-game once I get all my units into my position, I don't know what else to bring to the table and I get overwhelmed any tips would be greatly appreciated

Keep playing, this was my first pc game I ever dug into after playing rocket league so long that it was overwhelming as hell. Just experiment with different divisions. It really comes down to your playstyle and if you're being too defensive or pushing up too much

The safe way is to push with recon until you meet resistance, then it's just a matter of rock-paper-scissors and playing around the strengths and weaknesses of your matchup, you can also test the waters with a transport unit (be it a truck or a helo, do mind that they can disable the "fire at empty transport" but will still automatically capture your transport if it gets too close to them) or by flying above your units with a SEAD plane (it has great ECM and can spot radar AA). Any armored unit equipped with smoke can be nice to detect ATGMs, just peak outside your cover, and get ready to press the smoke keybind when you notice missiles coming your way. Like chess (or real life) you have to take risks and make sacrifices to force your opponent to invest in countering you, the most cost-efficient wins. If you have good close range but you're facing long range units sitting in a forest/buildings send smoke with your arty in front of your push (that's the best use of mortar units) in order to get close without getting hit. And obviously : use C, it's your best tool. But anyway, all of it depends on the matchup and the map.

Still, Abrams only a 5-6 destroy in recent war, still got 5K in stock Meanwhile T80 or more get destroy is very common but the number is like doesn't matter they just keep coming 😅

Iraq was against t 55s and few t 72s with no night sights. Ukraine there is only 31 abrahms and they are used sparingly there's not really tank on tank footage like that.

I played that match myself. The guy standing against Vulcan in that match was having his 2nd game ever, lol. My team was vastly less experienced. Yet "superior soviet engineering teaches INFERIOR Abrams a lesson". Erm, nice bait.

@@Smarcue2025 that's not realistic too, the turret on the Abrams doesn't fly. It should be flying turrets on the Soviet designs and a huge plume of fire from the blow-out panels on the Abrams :)
