Straight up lets be real, the principal judged him by his looks even though he only was filming and very respectful. IMO she lied by saying she don't know what a FOIA is. Going into lockdown is a bit overboard but one that is important because of the recent shootings in schools throughout the US. Her judgement was wrong but I respect it to some degree because its about the children. After finding out that there was no threat of any kind, they should have accepted his FOIA request (law) & immediately terminate the lockdown & apologize to TTA allowing him access into the building. By the looks on that principals face though it's obvious she did not want to help him at all, straight up!

Early in the video i could hear kids playing in the background. Right then i knew they would be calling the popo. They're not playing around these days, too much crazy stuff happening in the schools.

She was reluctant to help you get you arrested. What crazy principal.

What’s always crazy to me is that how an auditor acts has virtually zero bearing on how things are going to go. They can walk in, not say a word. They can walk in, and aggressively and disrespectfully speak to others. Or, they can do as the ones I watch; Honor Your Oath, Watching the Watchmen/Amagansett Press, Auditing Erie County, Bay Area Transparency, and of course, TTA, and be polite, informative, respectful, patient, and educational, and these public servants will STILL be nasty, STILL call the police, still lie, and still behave in an entitled manner. 100% agree. Having preschool aged kids myself I really appreciate the way they handled it. While filming isn’t illegal it is unusual in this setting. I say anything unusual around young children should be handled with the utmost care and caution in regard to the children.

He asked for information. Instead of giving him information or asking more questions to find out more, she immediately jumps to conclusions. I have NINE kids. She left that man standing out there without asking any more questions. If she was worried about something potentially nefarious, she should have PUT HERSELF BEFORE THE KIDS and at least done her due diligence. He had plenty of time to shoot out windows if he wanted to! If that building is an actual preschool that has kids there actively in school…… Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you have to or should. You can have some decorum, some integrity to leave a preschool alone.

Whoever chose to put the school under lockdown should be held accountable. Absolutely absurd. File suit w/ the school districts office.. immediately.

I agree. They should be trained to discern situations where lockdowns are needed and prevent frivolous invocation. Otherwise, staff and kids might become jaded......and we have "the boy who cried wolf" situation when a real lock down and required activities/actions are needed

As much as I love my 1st amendment rights 1. You knew the door to the school would be locked. 2. You read that the administration was around the corner, but for your video you wanted the principle to accept your FOIA request.

You have no right to file a FOIA request at a school. Granted, you didn't know it was a school. But they didn't make a mistake.

@@TTA42800 I understand, but a school has different regulations then most public forums. I can only speak for California though, I am only licensed to practice law here in CA. In this state the administration can trespass you without cause and can absolute reject your FOIA request. I support your channel and love your activism, just clarifying that schools are not subject to public forums like Libraries and such.

​@@sweetydThen the school should have no tresspassing or restricted access signs posted at the entrance of the school and at their administrative offices that apply to all people, quote... "they don't know". Only members of the public they "know or recognize" are allowed.

@@inquisitor4635 You are correct about the sign (at least in my state, but probably most) on public parcels. They are required to post signage about trespassing that references a statue. However, this does not apply to schools. Schools are the one entity that have a lot of exemptions. While they SHOULD have a sign, they are not required to have this for enforcement during school operating hours. The law gives the school 'implied authority' to control entry and access to the campus. One example is California Penial Codes 627-627.10 from 2007, This was updated in 2023 with California Penal Code - PEN § 626.8 that gave school more security. There are many more.

You know almost every video he says “even though we’re on cameras all day” There is a big difference between a camera for security and some random dude walking around taking video. If you don’t see the difference you’re purposely being obtuse. Especially with kids being shot up at schools. I’m okay with being cautious instead of dead kids. If he ended up shooting up the school that day, people would be saying why didn’t anyone question why a random guy was walking around taking video that day. I understand the first amendment but I also understand unusual activities and there’s nothing wrong with caution. I guarantee if your kid was killed in a school shooting your first thought wouldn’t be well, we really didn’t want to infringe on his first amendment rights.

Sarah is a disappointment in her position as Principal. Very inadequate training! Superintendent is a bigger disappointment.

It's good that public servants in The Leader of The Free World show how tax payers get value for their money!

I dont ever recall feeling unsafe at school in the 1970s and 1980s and I grew up during a war in Rhodesia. If the school was actually under attack, the cops would have all huddled around their pretty Tonka trucks and tanks, at least 100 feet away.

This is going to ruffle a lot of feathers, and I'm sure I'm gonna receive some hate. I believe everyone handled this audit perfectly, given that this was a Pre School. Checks and balances. In the end, you were able to accomplish your mission. I get it, Public Property! I'm a photographer, and have done a lot of public photography. I emphatically embrace our rights! But, schools with children, are allowed higher protections. You went through the appropriate steps, each contact handled the situation appropriately for their job title, and your request was fulfilled.
