I've played 2205 numerous times. But I've never actually looked closely at any of the buildings. I always liked the futuristic, clean, sleek look of the buildings, but I never looked at just how detailed they are. Fun series! Glad to see someone doing LPs of it in 2023!!

Ahhh didn't you , really?! As I often state, zooming in looking for the crazy details this game genre has got is half the fun :) Glad you enjoy anyways!

If I remember correctly at the release of Anno 2205 the produktion modules costed graphene, petrochemicals or magnetite depending on region and the other modules to decrease maintenance and such costed iridium. It was rather quickly changed in an update. But the companion app, the sector projects and the military sectors to get these rare resources lost their value in the progress. I don't even remember why the rare resources are still needed currently.

You definitely do remember correctly. Currently they’re only needed to build new warehouses in the various sectors, to upgrade the spaceports and for the orbital station modules. I cannot even imagine the pain of having to go for military just to optimise production, frankly: god bless them for having that changed 😂 Although you also got a point: military missions kinda lost their meaning. I’d have added the little side-factory modules (drone racks, energy accumulators..) to the list of rare materials bound modules.

Sector 9

How do you balance the artic? I never have enough stimulants or canned food

The Arctic is hard, but there’s a few tweaks you could implement: 1) get a good sector trait that gives you better output for coastal sites, you can change that for some credits and petrochemicals or graphene in the bottom right corner of the screen; 2) Go full fledged on agricolture and biotechnology with you orbital station modules and perks; 3) boost farms and factories with tundra catalysts. I end doing all this in this very series and it’s very satisfying needing so little canned fish. Stimulants I usually won’t bother providing, there’s literally no benefits out of it apart from the slight increase in scientists population. If you really want to, ship corals or the finished product from the global market in the end Game phase when you’re swimming in money.
