Lyrics:
We are young, we run green
Keep our teeth nice and clean
See our friends, see the sights
Feel alright
We wake up, we go out
Smoke a fag, put it out
See our friends, see the sights
Feel alright
Are we like you?
I can't be sure
Of the scene, as she turns
We are strange, in our worlds
But we are young, we get by
Can't go mad, ain't got time
Sleep around if we like
But we're alright
Got some cash, bought some wheels
Took it out, through some fields
Lost control, hit a wall
But we're alright
Are we like you?
I can't be sure
Of the scene, as she turns
We are strange, in our worlds

Listening in 2024?
is a track about being young, embracing independence, and feeling content with life, no matter how strange it may be. It encourages the listener to see themselves and their lives as unique and special, but also to be grateful for the small everyday comforts that make life enjoyable. The song encourages the listener to talk to friends, go out, and explore, while also taking the time to appreciate life’s little joys. In the end, the song reminds the listener that it is alright to be young and free.

it was summer 94 or 95, I was 9 or 10, my mother took me to swimming lessons and as she was dropping me off across the street was some guy watering his lawn with a hose.. as my mother dropped me and before I stepped into the sidewalk this loud music came from the house of this guy and I remember the summer sun beaming thru the water , and since forever I remember this song in my soul

Helen Day Britpop genre songs from the 90's was a tribute to the 60's British invasion era..I guess most of these singers were either born or were kids during the 60's so they got effected by that. Like we..80's and early 90's born (I was born in 1990) people got effected by these Britpop songs from the 90's. So now any song that sounds like 90's songs or 90's Britpop to me makes me nostalgic and happy. Same happened to you I guess 90's britpop reminded you of the 60's British invasion era..your childhood and that made you happy.
I wish those days were back. Such optimism and gentle hedonism.
1:21 I have no clue as to why, but the way gaz gestures as he says "are we like you?" is just so, how do I put this? Inspirational? like that movement and that sound is enough character to pitch a show

Boomer? Actually I think a _lot_ of people who remember the '90s might agree that not only were _they_ quite likely happier then, but also that in many crucial ways _life_ was better then. Heck, comparing the way internet & computing devices worked back then as opposed to today can be a lot like comparing a coral reef then & now: While there was once a vibrant landscape where new organisms could flourish, there are now inhospitable conditions amid ever-increasing quantities of toxic crap. From a legislative, financial, ecological, geopolitical, _or_ sociological standpoint, I think in most significant respects we are much worse off now than then. It's not even like the '90s were that great, it's more like since then we've turned the _Suck_ level up past eleven & snapped off the knob.

I am a late comer. I was unaware of the group and this song until the Taylor Hawkins tribute. What an amazing group. This song in particular, if you close your eyes and slip it between Crocodile Rock and Yellow Brick Road they would flow seamless. It embodies all of the greatness of the music created in the 70s.

Same here! I watched a couple more hours of the phenomenal Taylor Hawkins Tribute since is it's 5 hours long. You're absolutely right. I came here to look for them. They are a great band! Taylor had great taste in music. May he rest in peace.

How could you not know this song? It’s been featured in movies unless you have a very very low music taste hahahahah it’s like saying you don’t know who Metallica is oh wait do you know who they are?

@@Jeffro5564 I will take the shots. Yes I now Metallica, prefer everything prior to the Black album. Back around 2000 I gave up on new artists. I had to focus more other things. Through the years I have grown to become agoraphobic, this also includes new artists. I was born in 1971, I grew up appreciating the music that came before as well as what was being created at that time. I am sure I can say the same thing to you about artists that have come before you were born.

Yes, that’s probably why I like it so much. Just finished watching Peter Rabbit 2, and really caught on to its timeless appeal. I’m 63
The song onw of the greatest Britpop anthems, period! But the music video just makes you wanna shed a tear because it reminds you of your childhood… Gaz was like the best friend I always wanted to have!
Saw a commercial with this playing and found it after humming the melody and knowing only the words we alright. Great song!
My favourite song and honestly fits in with every vibe, I can’t describe how great this song is!!!!
Supergrass, Oasis, Blur, Pulp, The Verve, Stone Roses, Suede, Happy Mondays... good old times of 90's British rock *You see? I told you. Didn't I tell you? "Just added on for decoration" my foot!*

I remember this was used in a movie, and the ending credits was just this song playing with the video. I was a child of techno and this instantly hooked me to something new
This song encapsulates the mid 90’s for me so much! I wasn’t a huge fan of the band or the song at the time, although I did quite like it. However it seems to transport me right back there the second I hear it!! Far more so than any bands or music I was actively listening to myself then.. Great song and what a great time to be alive!.. I don’t half miss that era!

A timeless happy pop song. This will still be enjoyed in a hundred years. Very English pop
Meanwhile, as Chucky, Tiffany, and Caroline are going on a trip, Jake, Lexy, and Devon are now dolls, while Nica is confronted by Wendell Wilkins
This reminds me of the summer of 95(only know it was 1995 as the track came out then) and staying with my cousins in Wicklow. It was pretty hot as I remember, i was 9 and this song was played to death on the radio. Brings back nostalgic memories of that summer, playing football and swimming in the sea.
Everybody knows this song, everybody loves this song, and even though it’s not my personally favourite song I feel like it may be one of if not that greatest song ever made, anybody else agree?

@TheRisskee

@@elias_xp95 I respect your opinion, of course. I just have to say, the history that Freddie put into the song itself is what makes it amazing. I'm a history buff so I get that part but most people only sing the lyrics and don't think about where they came from. A Renaissance era Italian play is right in the middle of it, mixed with the modern feelings of a man who thinks he's killed himself off and he needs to apologize to his parents for it because whilst he has killed the son they think they had, he still is happy to be free to be who he is. The music theory is masterful in itself with insane octave changes, riff changes, lyrical abutments that shouldn't work but actually do. Bohemian Raphsody shouldn't exist, but it does. I was raised listening to Queen so I'm not part of the new wave of kids that freaked out over the song because they made a movie with it as it's title. My opinion is that it's more than just catchy if you examine it deeper.
