For a cheap bastard like me, its a super budget friendly set up. And seeing that all of the components are stainless steel, its virtually bomb proof. Lastly, all of the components (pot included, of course) nest together in a tidy little bundle. And, to be honest, I think all of that together creates a pretty awesome "cool factor". ;) Cheers from Montreal QC

The sleeve / screen is an excellent idea. I'll be experimenting with that soon. Which to choose? Never felt other than thrilled to have either one so there's no way to lose. Delighted to have both plus others! What a time to be alive!

Take a look at SIEGE STOVES. There are several options to go with this IKEA piece.

Another nice thing about twog stoves is the efficiency. I burn so much more wood for the same purpose with a campfire.

That is so true. This was a jolly experiment, but anymore I operated the fire pot without the stand or the windscreen. Ya just don't need them. I like to keep things simple. In terms of combustible material, I prefer twig stove to a campfire, until it gets really cold. Cheers from Montreal QC😊

i found my ikea stove was such a ferocious fire, especially in a wind. i had to use a tight windscreen to calm it down. works much more effectively now.

I know exactly what you mean. A wind screen certainly is called for whenever you have an excess of air movement. Rock on, IKEA fire pot. Cheers from Montreal QC

3:45 Interested in the contraption/shelter you got going there in the background

this was filmed at a spot up on Mt Royal where I used to do a fair bit of "stealth camping". The shelter in the background was lashed together by some young kids. I saw a couple of weeks ago that it had been torn down. Sad.

Great video, thanks for sharing. You were the first person I saw using an Ikea fire pot, but not the only one now. I saw a Dutch ( ? ) fella modify it a little by getting the larger size pot from Ikea and cutting a hole in the side, to provide a fuel feed hole, I cannot remember his name, but will look. I did try that too, with the larger fire ( cutlery ) pot and I have to say he is onto something, it makes a good idea even better. You may want to give that a try, or then again maybe not because you like Wild Turkey! Personally I prefer a good rum, but it needs to be a proper old style Navy rum, not the weak rubbish they sell as rum now a days. I have ordered the lixada stove now, off the back of your review, it looks good. I do like the Ikea fire pot though, especially the larger version.

I hate to admit it, but the Lixada stainless steel wood gaser "fucking kicks ass". However, I have two kits which are uniquely different. Sometimes its hard to choose, one over the other.

How much do you think you really need? Through trial and error I f9i need much less then I thought. Cheers from Montreal QC.

The problem is when you set your pot inside the stove you lose a lot of the combustion chamber.
