Supercharging FJ40 Toyota Landcruiser! // Dad's 1979 dream cruiser

Hello everyone my name is Eli, I'm a 16 year old that loves working in the workshop. This project has been a while in the making. My dad found this procharger style novi 1000 paxton supercharger on ebay. We had ideas of supercharging his 1979 land cruiser and this was the perfect blower. So I started off by plasma cutting out a bracket to hold the charger on the old smog pump mount. Then my good buddies dad, Kenny from Kenny's Pulling Parts made us a custom pulley that works with a v grove belt. After I did lots of calculations and testing I got it to make 5 PSI of boost! Although you will have to stay tuned until the next video to see all the trials and error I went through. Thank you guys for watching, I'll catch you on the next video!

Done a great job but the part I am most impressed by is the fact that you had the thought of using your oxy torch to heat up the brackets before painting! Most common people wouldn't even think to heat the steel up before painting, and to see a young bloke like yourself doing it completely blew my mind! Keep up the great work mate, never stop learning!

for a young fella, youve put together a fantastic video. You might also want to have a look at getting an ignition module. When you run boost on the 2F, youll need to ensure your timing is good otherwise she might go boom! Tidy work anyhow!!! :)
Nice job dude, funny enough my dad and I got an FJ40 project car when I was 13. Unfortunately some dingle ran it without oil, so I’m rebuilding the engine, in my yard, with simple tools. Nice to see that I’m not the only young person who has a knack for this. I actually also have a channel for it named “Kooky Hobbyist”, but my “in front of the camera” skills are not nearly as good as yours, ha ha.

Turbo charger. Super charger sits on top of the carb and it turned by belt or gear.

People think the only super charger is on top of motor. mount belt supercharger/charger/turbocharger is a bad az charge system. No need for the hot🔥exhaust turbos stuff .
