The Huntington County, Indiana area was under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch at the time of this filming on the evening of September 15, 2021. Rather rinky-dink thunder, Must have been a good twelve miles away. Want real thunder? Try Mobile, Alabama. The thunder there is the real thing.

I believe a lot of the lightning with this storm was cloud-to-cloud, which made for a pretty cool light show! I agree, the thunder was not the craziest I've seen.
