You are talking nonsense. Supercat had several mentors. He was good but he was very good at mimicking the big DJs at the time. His style is easily identified in guys like General Trees, Early B, Nicodemus and many others before him. He simply adopted the DJ styles the DJ styles that were popular at the time and performed very well. He can't be said to be innovative.

My teenage years... Supercat one of my favorites of all time

Lyrically, this is up there with Papa San's DJ Business as one of the all time dancehall classics in my book. Back in the day when dancehall was at it's best.

There was this *"Party"* saga that was going on around the time between 84-maybe 1986. Papa San's *"Animal Party"* was a killer, Admiral Bailey had the *"Bottle Party."*

I first heard this drop on London's LWR way back in 1985. I thought Zak the DJ was playing a sound tape, maybe Youthman Promotion because Supercat used to chat for them on a number of sessions. Blacker Dread's *"Answer"* riddim is one of the difinitive cut of the riddim. And this is one of Supercat's greatest performance.
